Greenville police searching for missing 70-year-old woman

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Greenville police are requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

70-year-old Bonnie Gitto was last seen in the 100 block of Fairlane Road shortly after 2:00 p.m. today. She was reported missing at approximately 4:30 this afternoon. As of the time of this email, officers have been unable to locate her.

Bonnie is possibly wearing dark blue jeans, black sandals, a blouse and green/brown prescription glasses. She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Bonnie is from Wilmington and was visiting family at the time of her disappearance. She is not very familiar with the Greenville area.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Last seen in the 100 lock of Fairlane RD the afternoon of May 18, 2018. Search efforts were unsuccessful and there have been no sightings of her, and no one has had contact with her since. She is from the Wilmington area and was visiting family at the time of her disappearance. She also has ties to the Rocky Mount and Nash County area of North Carolina.

Details of Disappearance
Gitto was last seen in the 100 block of Fairlane Road in Greenville, North Carolina at 2:00 p.m. on May 18, 2018. She walked out of the residence and disappeared, leaving behind her phone, purse, car, money, and credit cards, identification, and medication. She wasn't wearing makeup and her hair wasn't styled at the time of her disappearance, and it's uncharacteristic of her to leave the house looking like that.

Gitto is from Wilmington, North Carolina and was visiting relatives in Greenville at the time of her disappearance. She also has ties to the Rocky Mount and Nash County, North Carolina areas. The circumstances of her disappearance are unclear.
