Found Deceased NC - Caitlin Hodges, 29, from Illinois - visiting boyfriend in Goldsboro NC, 18 Jul 2024

It's worded poorly; the remains could be from the same individual. Unfortunately, disbursement of remains by scavengers due to scattering, disarticulationm and bone modification from gnawing and carriage is not uncommon over time so what may initially appear to be more than one person, isn't (and vice versa).

There are still many questions Jennifer Allio and her loved ones have nine months after her first cousin, Caitlin Hodgeswas reported missing.

Their questions come after the Wayne County Sheriff's Office confirmed that human remains found last fall in a wooded area were of 29-year-old Hodges.

"We want an end to this for my family," said Allio. "It's been going on for too long."

….

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said in March they were able to confirm that the remains found were from a woman, but did not belong to the Hodges, but that changed in April. With help from the North Carolina Chief Medical Examiner's Office, investigators were able to confirm that the remains did belong to Hodges.

There are two investigations ongoing according to a family posting in fb. And Caitlin in her fb had reported her sister missing. But we cannot link so JMO that the facts may be related or not.
Caitlin's family mentioned the recent death of her older sister. Crystal Lake woman's family seeks answers after her remains found in North Carolina: 'Devastating'.

There's no obituary online for Caitlin's sister (due to the cost of obituaries I'm seeing them less and less lately). We can't sleuth family members for posting, but a look at the court records in the Crystal Lake IL area provides some interesting information on both women, but as to being related to either's cause of death, is unknown. As to their being related, also unknown (though IMO unlikely), with the older sister's death occurring several months after and in a different state than where Caitlin's remains were found.

Their family hopefully will have some answers, it won't take away the grief, but may provide a little closure.
