SEARCH FOR MISSING FATHER, MOTHER AND DAUGHTER IN NC

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. -- The search was on Wednesday night for a missing father, mother and daughter in Alexander County.

Authorities discovered 48-year-old Carl Lee Dotson was missing Tuesday when they tried to serve a warrant on him at his home on Lindsey Bebber Road in Taylorsville. The warrant was for failure to appear on charges of assault inflicting serious bodily injury and assault by strangulation.

Officers also found out Dotson's girlfriend, Brandi Risden, had disappeared with the couple's four-month-old daughter. Investigators said there were previous domestic situations at the residence which led Risden filing a protection order against Dotson.

The North Carolina Center of Missing Persons was contacted in the hopes of issuing an Amber Alert, but that request was denied. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was assisting with the search.

The dad, mom and child were last known to be in a burgundy 1995 Dodge pickup with license plate NC FAN-3221. If you know anything about their whereabouts, call the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office at 828-632-1111.

Deputies say they were unable to find Carl Dotson, 48, Tuesday while trying to serve a Failure to Appear warrant on him at his home on Lindsey Bebber Road. During their investigation, officials say they learned Dotson’s girlfriend, Brandi Risden and their four-month-old child were also missing.

Dotson is currently facing charges of Assault Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury and Assault By Strangulation, but officials have not yet confirmed whether those charges involved Risden. However, officials do say a Domestic Violence Protection order issued by Risden is currently active against Dotson and stems from prior domestic incidents at the home.

Seriously! I can't believe that they didn't issue one- the mother and child are in danger being with this man. They know who he is, the car, license tag- why aren't they issuing an alert? This is what an Amber alert is for!

In my eyes, they'll be blood on their hands for not issuing this alert and something happens to that mother and 4 month old baby. Those Amber alerts have saved many children's lives when issued right away- we've seen it happen here to know how important they are! Whoever made that decision not to issue it- I hope that they can live with themself if something terrible happens to them.

I doubt that mother left with him voluntarily. Who wants to take a 4 month old on the run, trying to flee LE. Especially when the male has assaulted you before?

Great news about the baby, now where is the mother? I don't believe for one second that she left with him voluntarily.

No more details in the article but this makes it sound like Brandi is running from authorities along with Carl.
