18-year-old Charlotte girl reported missing

Catherine “Catie” Alford, 18, last contacted her family on Sept. 1, indicating that she was back in Charlotte after travelling to Myrtle Beach. Alford had been staying with friends since Aug. 19 but had remained in contact with her family through iMessage, FaceTime and Snapchat during that period. As of September 2, however, her phone has no longer received any messages.

A police report was filed with CMPD on Sept. 5 and Alford is currently listed on the department’s Missing Persons page.

A search of social media indicates she went missing in June 2017 posted by her mother.

There is also an active GoFundMe set up by her mom for a service dog for ptsd and anxiety and her mother also wrote that CA witnessed a shooting and a murder and was abducted and it was the cause of the PTSD.

I hope they find her soon.

Found it, thank you. Very odd that Mom would comment on Facebook that it was a runaway and ongofundme that it was an abduction. I feel like there is a lot more information to this case.

Good question. The party where the murder took place was in Feb, 2017, with a suspect taken into custody within a few days. It appears that CA didn't go missing until later that spring.

From SM seems as she has been in contact with family but has yet to return home. Which would explain why missing posters are still on the site.

I am a friend of hers doing personal research to check on her, I'm glad to see people are working to find her. I haven't had access to my snapchat for weeks and she last messaged me on the 31st stating she was with "her man" and "this is an SOS" and she had tried calling me on snapchat too.

How agonizing. You let her parents/and or the police department know about this? Have you since been able to get on snap chat and see if there was any further communication?
