I don't know what it means by signing in, but I noticed her Charley information says she was sometimes staying with a friend who lived in Kings Mountain. That's only about ten miles from where these remains were found. https://goo.gl/maps/luDKV

I can't find a Kings Mountain in NC? I have the flu though, so I may be missing it.....< Needs to back to bed!

Oh dear, yes, take your flu to bed!

Kings Mountain is next to Bessemer, where I85 intersects US74: https://goo.gl/maps/vwnbu It's apparently the site of an important Revolutionary War battle.

It's definitely there! You pass it on I-85, not far from Charlotte.

Why does her profile say she didn't "sign in" to the bar? Was it a private club? Anybody know?

You have to sign in to VFW's. ?

Kings Mountain is sorta between Gastonia and Shelby. It's a very small town but it does have a lot of history like Kings Mountain National Park where several civil war battles were fought. The park is on the state line between Kings Mountain in NC and Clover (Bethel area) in SC.

I hope you followed your own advice and went back to bed. You don't want to be sick for the holidays. I sure hope you feel better soon

here is another news article i found from sunday

http://www.shelbystar.com/news/local/human-remains-discovered-1.413737

doesn't sound like any of the one's that have been mentioned because of this part.

Neighbor Eric Smith saw the scene, along with the skull and a portion of the lower leg. A white tennis shoe was still attached. A white horseshoe-shaped pillow and a red blanket were also on the scene, he said.

“It looked like they made a bed and laid there and died,” Smith said.

sounds more like it could have been a homeless person possibly.

My first thought was Crystal Morrison Prentice but she was wearing black open toe dress shoes not white tennis shoes.

Maybe a nursing pillow?

Identified

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Charlotte Medical Examiner’s Office, determined the identity of the skeletal remains belonged to James Daniel Elkins, born April 21, 1960, in Midland, according to the statement released Thursday.

It appears Elkins was homeless and no foul play is suspected.
