"SCOTLAND COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office hopes to get to the bottom of a 40-year-old cold case.

The sheriff’s office is holding a news conference on Monday to announce the reopening of the Dora Breeden and Pat Gentry case.

Breeden and Gentry were shot and set on fire in their convenience store, P&D Mart, on Nov. 18, 1984''
''WMBF News will stream the news conference when it starts at noon.''

The motive for the killings remains a mystery, no money was taken from the store and their killings do not appear to have taken place during a robbery.

A lot of evidence has been destroyed through the years but deputies do have some things to work with as their investigation continues.

I'm speculating that one of Pat Gentry's rivals killed him and his wife. This attack seemed personal.

Deleted by me, as I was incorrect in my original post. Apologies!
