Identified! NC - Durham, WhtFem Pre 60, UP64095, abandoned house, Bromley Collect'n coat, Danskin shoes, Dec'19 - Evanir Rosa Roglio

Oh and also the farm goes by Mencken's Revenge As well, it was apparently pretty popular in the 80s.
After I made the post I was looking at google maps again and noticed that on the sign in front of the farm. At first I thought what an odd name. Then after I realized they raise and board horses I wondered if they had something to do with race horses. You always hear of a race horse named "Revenge" something or another. LOL
The farm has 130 acres and staff lives on site. So that farm could have bought that land when it was at some point for sale, which could explain why the yard for the abandoned house has been kept up. Hmm. That then brings me to the thought that could the staff at the farm have noticed anything odd happening in that house in the past few years?
I wondered if they ever had anyone they'd hired, just up and leave. Some kind of drifter maybe. Perhaps someone with no family to check up on them with.

Now, judging on the clothing (and on brief description of the remains), I'm guessing a DLC of somewhere between late 2013-2018 maybe early 2019. The Bromley coat wouldn't have been manufactured until after May of 2013 (I found this is when David Bromley and his wife married and founded Bromley & Co., couldn't find an actual start of business date yet) The Apostrophe hoodie, although could have been an item owned for years or bought at a second hand store, hasn't been manufactured in a few years that I can find, and I cant really find much on them however. The one thing missing that has me a bit puzzled is that there isn't a shirt. I probably wouldn't have thought about this too much if the hoodie was a pullover, but who wears a zip up hoodie without a shirt underneath? I'm guessing its winter or close to, I don't know much about NC weather, but I'm from NY and we start wearing clothing like that mid Oct-early Nov thru about March. I also find it strange the clothes are listed as "Near the body", makes me wonder if the clothing even belongs to this individual. Looks as though there is one sock pictured with the shoes where is the other sock? And With this being a female where are her underwear and bra? Lastly, I'm leaning toward this being a middle to older aged woman mostly based on the shoes. I just cannot see a teenager or young adult willingly wearing that style shoe, I don't mean the brand name either, just the style. Danskin Now is also a common brand of active wear, currently sold at walmart and targets all age ranges, I don't think these particular pair would have been aimed for sale to a younger generation compared to some of their styles.

Maybe about her being older in age. But I've always grew up wearing Danskin shoes. I was raised in a low income house but my mom and dad worked hard to make sure we always had clothes and I wasn't ashamed to wear them (I'm 27 and still wear that brand) Just a thought

Danskin used to cater primarily to the ballet and gymnastics crowd in the 80's-90s, when they expanded to a more general market. We used to have to search out dance specialty stores but by the time her dance career ended, department stores were carrying everything.

I didn’t even know danskin has been around that long! Looking at the shoes found does it say “Danskin Now” or Danskin Mist? To me it looks like mist but that could just be my eyes.

Right, which is exactly why I asked about thrift shoppers. I grew up in low income too and had to get clothing 2nd hand, still thrift shop as main source of clothes cuz I can’t justify the prices of new clothing lol
Danskin is a good brand, still buy that brand though I didn’t know they had shoes till seeing them on this case honestly. I was thinking her age to be early 20s-35/40s judging by her clothes alone.

it was said in the description on namus that she was wearing a blue bra, I’m guessing with decomp and the thin materials of shirts bras and undies those would be the first to deteriorate? The clothes were in a pretty yucky state judging by the photos.
I think maybe those articles of missing clothes were ruined just by trying to gather for evidence. That or she just didn’t wear them. I admit I’ve worn just a bra under a hoodie.. but your right, a zipper one wouldn’t work, the zippers alone are annoying lol

I apologize if I offended you. I did explicitly say however it wasnt the brand that made me think this, it was the style, the way they look, Danskin targets all age groups and I feel this style compared to their other styles was directed toward an older group rather than a teen or young adult shoe. Sorry if my post didnt make this clear.

I found that in May 2013 David Bromley married and he and his wife formed Bromley and Co.

I saw that company as well but I don't think it's the same Bromley as the clothing makers. The logo is different from what was on the clothes. That Bromly is an Australian artist and his artwork is featured on his website (no clothing line that I saw): Bromley&Co | Art

MOO.

No worries, you didn't offend me. I was just stating my opinion on her age range

great catch! I didnt go into the website any further when I saw fashion on the website Bromleyandco.com. If you scroll through its towards the bottom and what it is, is a fashion designer named Yuge Yu who uses David Bromley's art prints in her fashion designs. Thanks for the correction.

Maybe she had ties to the local colleges? Duke University and North Carolina Central University are in Durham.

It seems like she was on the older end of the adult spectrum, so she probably wasn’t a student. Maybe she could have been a teacher or some type of staff member.

So I been thinking, which will probably come out more like ramblings, I think she was an adult too, possibly younger adult but more like mid 20s being the younger side but not over 40. Judging by the clothing she would have been wearing are considered plus size correct?
in an earlier post I’ve made I was wondering about the farm owning the property that the house sits on, I’m thinking that the farm does own the property because on satellite it shows some more of the stables on the other side of the abandoned house. Don’t look like they are used as much as the ones more towards the farm, the other buildings behind the abandoned house are owned by the farm too. There’s a large radius 130+ acreage and trails that’s all owned by the farm. According to both the farm websites they have been expanding the land over the past 25 years and the staff maintains the land and farm. Live onsite. Around the clock horse care.
It’s not the owners I’m sleuthing at all and definitely don’t want it to seem that way, but I feel the answer falls on when they purchased that parcel of land. I think the UID has been in there for awhile.
Then it brings me to other questions like how didn’t anyone smell the decomp or see any suspicious activity on the property? She might have been long passed that part of the process to where it’s not even noticed, but you would think staff would go into that house at some point throughout the years. At first glance maybe the clothes just looked like they were left there or something until looking further and seeing bones. Not sure but something seems weird about it all. I hope they can get a hit on DNA off the clothes or bones. I’ve been looking for missing persons in NC that would match the description of what we know about Jane Doe with not much luck.

This is Linda Darlene Watts, who disappeared in May of 2004. Several men were arrested and charged with kidnapping and murder, but charges were dropped later:

Watts is about the right size and build (5'5" and 160 lbs).

It's about half an hour from where Watts was last seen to where these remains were found: خرائط ‪Google‬‏‏

North Carolina – CUE – Community United Effort

This is a site I’m going thru for people who are still missing in the NC area.

does anyone else have any other missing person sites that have pictures and have been useful?

Lots and lots of people still missing in NC. It’s very sad.

I took a quick look through the missing listed there and saw Amy Bridgeman:

Missing: 6/24/2013

Age at Disappearance: 42

Height: 5′ 2″

Weight: 180

Details of Disappearance: Amy was last seen around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013 in South Weldon, NC. Residents told police that she left the residence, leaving her purse behind and was never seen again. Amy’s family has stated that she would not just disappear and not contact them. She may have left the area with a long haul truck driver.

Weldon, NC is about 90 miles away from Durham, but that's an easy distance to travel if she really left with a long haul truck driver: خرائط ‪Google‬‏‏

”Meanwhile, the Durham Police Department was conducting a death investigation in the wooded area near Page Road and Old Page Road. No other details were available.“

That comment throws me off. was this a totally different investigation? Don’t know why it was included unless they think it’s related or something???

I hope we can get a composite soon, it would make finding a match based on appearances significantly easier. Is there any way we can find out if one is in the works?

i know right! My thoughts is that forensics will be done, depending on the results or if they get a hit from DNA they might not even have to do a sketch, but if they come up empty handed they might have to do a sketch, which depending on the remains may take awhile as NamUs states that her body “Not recognizable - Near complete or complete skeleton” but they do know white female. Hair color is unknown, which I found kinda odd just because hair decomposes differently, which brings me to she either had bald or short hair, wore wigs, or something got on her hair during decomp and it disintegrated. Bodily fluids destroy a lot of evidence. We also know “Clothing
Labeled "Bromley Collection" size 20W Black, waist length coat; pair of white and light blue "Danskin Now" shoes size 8W; remnants of bra and underwear (sizes unknown); bluish "Van Heusen" stretch jeans size 16R; brown woven belt; and dark colored hood jacket "Apostrophe" sized 16-18W. Near the Body.” My thoughts on near the body has to do with over time, decay, critters, and of course the icky process of decomp. Someone might have possibly been in the abandoned house at some point and moved the clothing not noticing the bones. The clothing style has me thinking that it was in chillier months that her death occurred as she was wearing a longer dress jacket with a hoodie underneath. I’m not from NC so I wouldn’t know how the weather is there, like when it usually hits the colder months. In MN it’s October when people usually start layering.

So back to the sketch, it all depends on the condition of the remains and what features that are left that they can work with, there’s a long process of doing the sketches based on just the skeleton. Usually involving sculpting, clay, etc. I seen an episode on forensic files on how composite sketches are done on skulls and it’s actually a pretty interesting process.

I also question if there was still some skin intact for them to determine that she’s Caucasian. Otherwise I don’t think you can tell just by looking at bones?

There are some signifiers in the bones that give evidence of certain origins (shape of nasal opening is one if I recall correctly--been a while since I took that forensics course), but since race is a cultural construct, not a biological one, there's not a lot.

Yes I believe the shape of nasal opening and I THINK forehead pronouncing were indicators.

There are some characteristics of the long bones as well, I think. But in an area like North Carolina where people of various white, native, and black groups have been mixing for centuries, the possibility of uncertainty is high...

I found an open group on facebook called North Carolina/Virginia Missing Person Community. These are mostly newer missings, but they do put up older posters and there have been a couple Ive seen not on Namus. Just the group in general gives the idea that this person could be from Virginia and then the more I thought maybe even Tennessee or South Carolina. Missings i have found from NC the only one Ive found that matched somewhat of a clothing description right to the blue and white shoes is a 69 yo who I dont feel would be the right size were looking for. Her height is right but the weight is off. I dont know why this one is tugging at me so much. Whoever this poor girl is, it seems she was there alone, for a long time.
