My dad used to brag he "bought" a house for my younger sister and her family. Fact was, he got the house in his name for the VA mortgage and paid the $1000 down payment. On a handshake, it was agreed the $1000 would be paid back through a year's free room and board, since he was moving in with them. As soon as possible, he would sign the mortgage over to them, since they paid it faithfully every month, fed and housed him at minimal rent/board, and made all the improvements.

Well, he didn't and they had to threaten to move out before he did!

Our other sister has been asking for her share of the house ever since he passed! What a mess that was!

Well, I have a suspicion this was something similar. Sandy and Casey would pay the mortgage and, in the end, he would give them the deed. Sounds to me like they had about 27+ years to go on that deal. They probably weren't able to buy the house on their own due to poor credit/lack of down payment.

I have no doubt that the payments for the house came from the checks for Erica. No Erica, no checks. No house.

As I have said before....

Casey tends to invent crisis situations which allow her to project HERSELF as the subsequent victim.

So, this recent house conflict got me thinking, AGAIN. I went through as much of the info that is available online to create a sort of 'inventory' which chronicles Casey's opportunities to project herself as an innocent victim, who has no responsibility in anything. The world is clearly against her! :banghead:

- Sandy Parsons and domestic violence in 1994 and 1997.
- The Intended Parents from 2002 surrogacy.
- Robin Ashley, Casey's sister, who revealed Casey's surrogacy intentions in 2002 and made complaints to Child Welfare about Erica's treatment.
- Vanderbilt Mortgage, in 2007, for allegedly stealing $35,000 from them.
- Bank of America, in 2007, for putting a hold on their account and therefore jeopardizing their home.
- James Parsons, in July 2011 and June 2013, for allegedly assaulting Casey and then making false reports in July 2013, which implicate his parents in Erica's disappearance.
- "Irene 'Nan' Goodman", who allegedly 'duped' Casey into turning Erica over to this fictitious individual.
- Erica Parsons, for calling Casey a '*****' and rejecting their supposed idyllic relationship. Also, because, Erica's refusal to come forward today is keeping Casey from her younger children.
- Brook Parsons, for running away in 2012 from the Parsons' home "with an adult boy".
- Unknown People, for circulating rumours, regarding Erica's whereabouts to Carolyn Parsons in February 2013. (side note....What WAS Carolyn hearing, at this point, and from whom?)
- Unknown Hacker, who allegedly hacked into Casey's account and was sending weird messages in February 2013.
- DSS for removing the youngest two Parsons children, without justification.
- Sheriff's Office Investigators for suspecting them and not following up on the alleged Irene/Strawberry/Kelly leads.
- Carolyn Parsons, for wanting a relationship with her birthdaughter and for divulging Erica's details to the supposed 'Nan' person.
- Sandy Parsons Sr's family, for shunning and disliking Casey, since before marriage. Casey also appears to be incensed at how Sr objects to Jr and Casey's belief that they have a legal standing on whether or not they can sell the house. (This is an odd assumption, because he seems to be one who has committed to standing beside these 'good folks', whilst her own family turned on her.)
- The media and general public for infringing upon their esteemed privacy.

I am very vague about these 2 items ... might you have any more details ?

Did she say this ? I don't remember that.

I think this is just a misunderstanding on Casey's part.
The PARSONS couple are obviously not in close contact with Sr. because if they were,
it would have been mentioned that they were putting up the "for sale" sign tomorrow ...

Grandfather PARSONS own words to the media said he supported his son Sandy &
his other son Scott backed that up. My opinion is that Casey is not sophisticated enough
to think that LE might have froze their house bank account. So Casey seeing that Sr. had
not cashed the cheques, she just assumed Sr. had turned against them ... when in fact
he hadn't (but her trying to sell HIS house might have pushed Sr. over the edge now).

Just because Casey is home & has time to learn how to enter words into google, does not mean she
is highly educated or knowledgeable about legalities or sophisticated in the ways of the world ...
I mean she didn't even know what it means to own a house & when you have the right to sell it.
And she wasn't smart enough to check with her lawyer first ... instead she just impulsively
went & put the sale sign out. She is frustrated things are not going the way she wants &
is trying to control things about which she is not knowledgeable. So she is making mistakes.
She could be easily manipulated by a real criminal type who is much more savvy & experienced than her.

In their final conversation in March 2013, Casey told Carolyn that it might be a while before she writes again because she’s rarely on the computer.

She says Brook, another daughter of the Parsons, and Erica were going to Asheville for the weekend. She told Carolyn that Erica was getting tutoring in math from a family friend.

She talked about Erica getting her driver’s permit and mentioned that they would have to get special pedal extensions for her, because of her height, before she could drive.

Casey told Carolyn that someone had hacked her Facebook account and had been sending out weird messages.

yes, it was in the recent legal quagmire article regarding the Parsons attempt to sell teh residence and the senior Mr. Parsons stating they have no right to do so as he owns the property.

My question is, are they not supplied by the city with water service in that area? Is it common to have a well in town proper in Salisbury?

I live about 3 hours away from Salisbury, so I don't know the specifics of that town. In general though, I've noticed that a lot of people don't "trust" the water supplied by the county water system, so they often put in a well to get water that is more "pure". This seems to be especially true among the natives of North Carolina. Also farmers often have wells to water their fields and for the livestock. Believing it is cheaper in the long-run to put in a well than pay the county every month. (Besides the county water company is a pain in the butt to deal with...if you are a day late in paying your bill they come turn off your water.)

Good question, tlcya, are they actually drinking from that well?

Brand new well just install March 2013

Yesterday there was a picture of the house rear put in this thread &
if you look at it you see there is a swimming pool in the back yard for the kids.
I wondered if they were using the well water to fill the swimming pool.

But I think 27 is too young to be Sandy's brother

Flagged it and sent a report to CL before someone falls for this scheme! These people have taken enough money from others and should be rotting in JAIL for it. How they are able to walk in the light of day, I have no idea.

I'm hoping LE knows what they're doing here. Hoping they make a break in this case any day now.

Interesting find. We don't know if it is related, but when something like this, seemingly related, pops up during an investigation I always wonder if the investigation led to the arrest.

Specifically in this case, to make my statement more clear. I wonder if the fact that LE are investigating people with similar names or distant relations to the Parsons, and happened upon this individual.

I live in South Carolina and it is really cheap to put in a well in many places because the water table is so high. A company will come drive a pipe down until they hit water and they pump some out to make sure it's good. I don't know how that could have anything to do with Erica disappearing? Almost everyone who has a pool or a sprinkler system has their own well because it is cheaper than paying for water. I don't know the rules there but we are required to use county water for our home.
