well, they both volunteered to take polys but not for police. It was when appearing on the Dr Phil Show for two days. Sandy (the adoptive father) DID take a polygraph and he was found to be highly deceptive in his answers. He failed miserably.

His lovely wife Casey was set to take on during that same appearance but quite suddenly took ill and had to return to NC and be briefly hospitalized for what was described as "problems" due to her past gastro surgery.

And, lest we forget, Casey :dramaqueen: not only took ill but was in terrible pain...

“She said she was a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most horrific pain,” he* said.

*Jack Trimarco, polygraph examiner

Just an FYI, RainyAlaska. Their attorney appeared with them on the Dr. Phil Show.

I've been re-reading Everything She Ever Wanted this week. Casey reminds me of Pat Taylor Allanson quite a bit, although perhaps without the same level of crazy ambition. (i.e., Pat scammed and lied and harmed people on a much grander scale...and her arrests hardly slowed her down. Which is pretty scary considering they haven't gotten Casey behind bars yet.)

Checking in for Erica!

This isn't so relevant but I was recently working on a poster for another case http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230701&page=7 and to practice the format etc I decided to do a mock-up poster first, and I went with Erica's pictures and information. Erica already has plenty of posters so I'm not suggesting this as a replacement.. just felt like reposting her adorable face!

That middle picture just breaks my heart. She looked so unhappy. :(

It really looks like someone forced her to smile because "it's Christmas and you're supposed to look happy." That face just spells out total resignation to me. :(

Nothing on a court date yet?

(Not sure if this has been mentioned before)

You are indeed correct in that malnourishment could be a contributing factor to Eric's height. I also note that Erica exhibits facial dysmorphisms which may be indicators of an underlying disorder other than malnutrition.

I think Turner Syndrome is a possibility, symptoms include short stature and learning disabilities among other things.

I know the epicanthal folds, lack of philtrum, flat nasal bridge, jaw, and possible ear abnormalities made FAS a possibility, too. Makes me sad to even speculate on that. If that were the case and something Casey was aware of it could've contributed to the anger she said she felt for Carolyn when she even looked at Erica, in addition to dehumanizing Erica further in her eyes. Any condition of Erica's would've helped with the last bit though.

Careful folks....we don't want to re-victimize the victim. Any speculation upon Erica's health or her general appearance, IMO, is irrelevant to her disappearance.

You're right, HerStory. Wish I could go back and edit my post.

The only indicator we have of learning disabilities is that Casey Parsons claims Erica had one. I remain unconvinced.

When will this child be located?

Detective Mauldin's comments about Erica's schoolwork:

Casey has said Erica had a learning disability. Mauldin said the teen struggled with her school work, but “she always tried very hard.” He said much of what investigators looked at through Erica’s school work and writing indicated Erica liked her time in public school.

“She would draw or write letters to other classmates and teachers telling them how much she loved or cared for them,” he said.

Erica was behind in school, but it wasn’t because she wasn’t smart, Mauldin said, but the focus wasn’t always placed on her school.

I wish we could find you, sweet girl.

I think the early pics of when she was younger 5 or 6 reflect a thriving happy child and the older pics 12 or so reflect a child who is mal- nourished, not thriving, possibly has had a broken nose. I believe there was a dramatic shift during her primary years in the family dynamic, attitudes and treatment towards Erica. Time took its toll on her.

Can't wait to hear Casey and Sandy talk about this one like a game they deserve to win. No mention of emotion or actual children last time.
