Sickening pervert! You would think these guys would catch on that there is a BIG chance that they are talking to someone in law enforcement but I guess they just can't contain themselves. I wonder if the pervert was planning to charge for the use of the little boy? Or was this just something he was doing out of the goodness of his heart I hope LE can back track and catch any other guys that might have used this little guy.

I wonder what the partner had to say when he found out what had been going on? It will be interesting to see if he is able to keep the kids or if they will be taken and placed into foster care. I also wonder how many years this pervert will get. I bet he won't get near as many as he deserves. It seems that they just get a slap on the wrist instead of years in prison.

From the molester's words, when his partner was around, the child was safe and the partner was unaware of the molestation, so I think the partner should get to keep the children. Everyone in that family is going to need some therapy. I hope the molester gets extra intensive "therapy" in prison.

Thank you for finding that addition info...........After reading it I believe this p.o.s had it in his head to molest this baby from the get go-how horrible for his partner who ,most likely,adopted this child with the best intentions & had no idea his partner & co parent was up to this........wow.......I REALLY hope the other children are throughly checked out.
I guess its a blessing,in a weird way, that this child was drugged.......I hope he has no memory of being raped.I hope the other Father is fit & can care for these children.I also hope this case will be viewed as an anomaly for gay adoptions & not used for propaganda against then.

20 years, I agree, WAY too short....it'll be just like Potter and all the other RSO's, he'll be out in 5 for "good behavior", and just find another child to do this to.
Why are these cases (ie Jada Justice) getting such "soft" imo sentences?
Hell, why not tell them.....hey, go ahead and do it, you'll just have to do a few years, then you can do it again if you want.

Everytime I read stories like this, I am struck by how incredibly sick and twisted the behavior is.....yet the perp was apparently living what appeared to be a normal life to the outside world - even to his partner. How can someone have such evil horrible behavior and still act 'normal'? Isn't there something about these people that would raise an alarm??:waitasec:

I'm trying to imagine an accident where your nose was cut off though. All of the mental images I'm getting are really ridiculous looking (like getting it suck in a rolled up car window)!

Some of the comments on the news stories were enough to curl your hair. As in, why were these freaks given a kid to molest in the first place, etc. sigh.

So, if a father rapes his daughter, should we stop letting heterosexual couples adopt?

I feel for homosexual couples crawling through the adoption maze right now - every case like this likely makes it a bit tougher.

I think they are sociopaths that could probably fool everyone. JMO

I wonder if there could be a way to monitor their reactions to viewing certain types of photos. Nothing pornographic, just pictures of a young child to detect any kind of arrousal. The worse pedo I knew would get turned on simply by watching a movie with small boys, it seemed the more innocent it was, the better he liked it.

This is a very hard post for me. Mr. Lombard set back adoption by gay couples at least a decade. I've worked so hard on advocacy for adoption by openly gay singles and couples and I'm VERY disappointed in the way this case played out. I refuse to turn away from news that is distasteful to me, though, or which is contrary to my personal "agenda".

Plain and simple, Mr. Lombard is a pedophile. I have no idea if he actually set out to adopt little boys with his partner for the primary purpose of abuse or not. If he did, that is an abomination!! He certainly didn't suddenly become a pedophile upon the arrival of children in his home.

Mr. Lombard obviously went to great lengths to conceal the abuse from his partner, a man whom police have said was devastated by the disclosures and was not involved in any way. Mr. Lombard scheduled his abuse of the child for times when his partner was traveling on business.

I can't imagine the pain his partner has been put through. The children were initially removed from the home. I am so hopeful that they can return, if appropriate, to their other Dad. These children were adopted at young ages and this was the only family they knew.

This case has been a hot topic on adoption forums and anti-gay forums since it broke. I find it disgusting that on many of the anti-gay forums the child victim is referred to by the N-word. Some will use this case as "absolute proof" that gay men should not be allowed to adopt.

I would ask everyone to look at the statistics of straight fathers (birth, step, adoptive, and foster--of every color and religion) who rape their children and keep this in mind.

this case has especially angered me. like you, i not only feel for the sweet boy who was hurt by this monster, but i am furious but some of the comments i have read on other forums about how this is "proof" that gay people shouldn't have children! :furious:

wonder what will happen to the little boy and his sibling. i hope they wont be taken away from their other dad and the rest of their family.

The adoption "world" is watching carefully. It would be unprecedented for Children's Services to remove the children permanently given that the other Dad had no idea what was going on. In "straight" families, that's certainly not the case. The children and the non-offending parent will be offered services and support to heal. That had better be what is happening in this case. I'll post as soon as I learn any news.

I don't want to offend anyone here, but I have to repeat that the anti-gay parenting group which has lit up several forums on this subject have not shown themselves to be very kind. To call babies vile names is inexcusable in my book.

In doing some quick research on Lombard's case, I was appalled to easily find the name of the other adoptive father AND the child's name. I am very very hopeful that if this child was allowed to remain in his other father's custody that there has been a name change.

Good news, all in all, however, it is dispicable that drug dealers and thieves get more prison time than this filth of society! I would like to see pedofiles get the death penalty, there is NO redemption for these scum bags, not in my opinion, I don't care if they get out and become a Monk, this sin is unredeemable!

It's commendable that so many posters are forgiving of the "partner" who didn't know what was going on. I do find it odd that when it is a mother and her boyfriend or spouse (i.e., "partner") is abusing the child, how many comments are usually negative toward the mother and her parenting ability is often called into question. Interesting that we hold women to higher standards than men.

I hope the family remains together (minus the abuser), gets the help they need, and that the abuser goes away for a long, long time.
