Yep, you're right. All this seems prior to the new charges. I just want to .make sure he does not slip thru the cracks.

This may be reaching but I was doing a little research and I believe MM was out of prison from 02/09/2016 through February 2018. The bodies of Rhonda Jones, Christine Bennett and Megan Oxendine were all discovered in April/June of 2017.

To me, all 3 are similar in appearance to Hania. Although Hania was MUCH younger, at 5'2" and 126 pounds she was the size of a grown woman

Yes, according to this article he was the one in the video.

MAN CHARGED WITH AGUILAR’S RAPE, MURDER | Robesonian
"The break in the case came through forensic testing of evidence taken from the stolen SUV, which was recovered on Nov. 8. The Robesonian has been told that McLellan is the man depicted in a widely distributed surveillance videoof a person walking near where Aguilar was kidnapped and shortly before that happened."

This does not make sense. Why turn yourself in for a crime in which nobody was hurt when you know you committed a much heinous crime and risk being held?

The police had issued warrants for MM in connection to the Oct 15th attempted robbery in Fairmont. I’m guessing this fact came to his attention somehow so he turned himself in. Possibly the cops tried to execute the warrant at his home when he wasn’t in.

*Prelim Hearing (@ 9 am ET) – NC – Hania Noelia Aguilar (13) (abducted Nov. 5, 2018, found Nov. 27, 2018) - *Michael Ray McLellan (34) arrested & charges (12/7/18) with 1st degree murder, 1st degree forcible rape, statutory rape of a person under 15, 1st degree sexual offense. Statutory sex offense with a person under 15, 1st degree kidnapping, felony larceny, felony restraint, abduction of a child & concealment of a death. Held without bond.
Was already arrested Nov. 13 & charged with second-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with an Oct. 15 attack in Fairmont. This case is continued to 3/19/19.
12/7/18: Preliminary hearing set for 12/10.

And in July 2017 MM committed a similar crime - felony b&e and larceny of motor vehicle. He was convicted in February 2018 and out in June 2018. imo, this is when the penal system failed us and little Hania.

The woman recognized his voice and called him by name, and, according to Edwards “he removed the mask and talked to her in a way to attempt to play it off with her.” Edwards said he did take money from the woman.

McLellan is said to be a Fairmont resident, but he has a home on N.C. 41, according to Edwards."

Yes, it goes from White Lake to Chinquapin, and it is the road that Hania's mobile home park is on.
Edwards is the Chief of Police of Fairmont.

The Fairmont man charged with kidnapping, raping and murdering a Lumberton teen was due to have his first court appearance Monday on those charges.

McLellan, of 513 Marvin St. in Fairmont, is being held without bond.

Judge denies bond for man accused of kidnapping, raping, killing Hania Aguilar - WWAY TV
A judge today denied bond for a man accused of kidnapping, raping and killed a Lumberton teenager last month. Meanwhile no decision has been made yet on whether he will face the death penalty.

Michael Ray McLellan, 34, showed no emotion during his first court appearance as the judge read through his charges, which include with first-degree murder, first-degree forcible rape, statutory rape of a person under 15 years of age or younger, first-degree sexual offense, statutory sex offense with a person 15 years or younger, first-degree kidnapping, felony larceny, felony restraint, abduction of child and concealment of a death in the death of Hania Aguilar.

In Robeson County Court this morning McLellan asked for an attorney. The judge said McLellan will likely have two attorneys.

District Attorney Johnson Britt said that because he is leaving office later this month, he cannot decide whether this is a capital case. Instead, he will leave the decision whether to seek the death penalty up to Matt Scott, who won November’s election. Britt, though, said that based on McLellan’s previous record, the death penalty could be a possibility.

Death penalty possible for man accused of killing Hania Aguilar

The man accused of kidnapping and killing 13-year-old Hania Aguilar appeared in court Monday morning.

After a short appearance, the judge revoked bond for Michael McLellan, 34. The judge also said McLellan could face the death penalty in the case.

Suspect in Hania Aguilar's murder has bond revoked
McLellan was already incarcerated on a separate incident involving the attempted armed robbery and kidnapping of a woman outside her home off Pittman Street in the Fairmont Community of Robeson County. His bond was set at $2.5 million in that case, but Monday morning, that bond was revoked.

In court Monday, McLellan arrived wearing a bulletproof vest. He was surrounded by police.

Hania's mother was in attendance, according to ABC 15's Tonya Brown, who was in the courtroom for the hearing.

He was moved to another courtroom Monday morning for a second hearing.

McLellan will also have another court appearance Friday.
