I have not seen any of the negative remarks, but if FBI/LE keep talking about it - it must be bad and a hindrance to their investigation.
So it must be a public page (Facebook?) that the family and general public can post?
I don’t know.

Lumberton Police Department | 11/19/2018 1:51pm (EST)

Today, marks two weeks since Hania Aguilar was kidnapped outside her home in Lumberton. We are at a critical phase in our investigation and need the public’s help. Many times over the past few weeks, we have asked for anyone in Lumberton or surrounding Robeson County with surveillance video to call us. Unfortunately, many have not contacted us, even when FBI Special Agents left business cards and reward flyers asking for a call-back. If we do not reach everyone with video soon, that video could be lost as many systems will purge the older footage automatically. We are desperately trying to locate additional footage of the stolen SUV to determine when and how it got to Quincey Drive where it was found on November 8th. Today, we are expanding our plea for video to all of Robeson County, specifically along Highway 41/Elizabethtown Road and any side streets, especially along Popes Crossing Road, Wire Grass Road, and Lovett Road. Please call the tip line number at 910-272-5871.

Both Hania and Jayme are still missing! It's not only heartbreaking and frustrating it's also one of the few cases I've followed of missing teens where there have been no sightings and LE hasn't been able to come up with anything substantial from their investigation. No possible motive, not a clue as to whether the abductions were targeted or random. Why were these innocent girls taken??

It's as if both girls vanished into thin air. I keep writing and deleting because my thoughts are so dark. I'll just say I hope both girls are alive and will be found soon.

Thanks to all of you for continuing to brainstorm the possibilities - I'm out of any constructive theories so I appreciate hearing what y'all have to say.
I so hear you, MsMarple. I am drained of any theory or thoughts when it comes to Hania and Jayme. Just heartbreaking, and I fear that neither is going to have a happy ending.

And with the crime in Lumberton, I would be surprised if a business didn’t have cameras.

I don’t expect the trailer park to have one - unless at the office. Or if improvements had been made like at the adjoining Laiken Estates.

Ring doorbell - anyone know how much they cost? Probably a lot less than an iPhone.

I think we paid around $99 for ours. Not sure if that was on sale or not but still, they’re not as expensive as one may think.

What’s concerning to me is that there have been no sightings at all (that I’ve heard of) in either case. It also doesn’t seem like there’s been any major leads or breaks. And that’s really disheartening and worrisome. :(

Thank you for this!

I’ve never been to Lumberton but if someone local can help ... why do they want footage from the wire grass road location? I see a straight drive from the mobile home park to Quincey Dr that does not include wire grass rd. It looks out of the way. Any thoughts? Am I missing something?

I don't know, but according to a post in the previous thread AMBER ALERT - NC - Hania Noelia Aguilar, 13, abducted, Lumberton, 5 Nov 2018 #3
they searched in that area before.

It's in Fairmont, which is probably closer to Sara Graham's disappearance location than to Hania's.

I have no idea. The only thing I can guess is that they are trying to figure out where the SUV came from before it was left on Quincy Drive. Perhaps they already have cameras from the other roads/other directions and have ruled those routes out? Perhaps these three roads they do not have any camera footage? The SUV was not found for 4 days. They have not released when they think it was left on Quincey Dr (if they know that) but it could have been anywhere in the county for the 4 days before it was ditched. It could have been in someone's garage or barn and maybe when the heat got too high they got rid of it. I can only speculate.

Could be. But how on earth would a woman let this mother suffer so profoundly and not call it in. I just don’t get that. Unless she is trash also. Well I guess she must be!

It's also possible that there is not suspicions. That perhaps this suspect does not keep to a routine. Does not have a normal schedule. Regularly comes home with injuries. Given the level of crime in the area it's certainly possible that this would be a different type of suspect than we are used to seeing in these cases. The red flags we normally think of, may be perfectly normal to this suspects associates.

I don’t know.

I wonder if the authorities feel that the negativity is part of why people are not coming forward. Maybe they feel those discussions are inhibiting them coming forward with video or information. That would certainly hurt their investigation.

Exactly. My dog was taken from our gated front yard and my neighbors all reviewed their surveillance footage. We caught the puppy thief and ended up getting our dog back because of my neighbors video.

How could people be anything less than cooperative when a little girl is missing?!
SO glad you got your puppy back, LVatty!

Looks like a good place to toss something from a vehicle maybe heading North? Just a thought, they could have found something that makes them believe they headed out this way. They don't ask for footage unless they think or found something of interest. I posted early on that I thought he dumped the vehicle and headed North to the interstate. But who knows.

"Today, we are expanding our plea for video to all of Robeson County, specifically along Highway 41/Elizabethtown Road and any side streets, especially along Popes Crossing Road, Wire Grass Road, and Lovett Road."

What do these side streets have in common? They are all accessible from the Hwy 74 exit onto Route 41 (Martin Luther King Jr. Drive). Why this exit off 74? The perp drove left (east) out of the trailer park. Why wouldn't he continue away from town going further east on Elizabethtown Road? It is also unlikely that he turned around and drove through town in a stolen car. It seems he may have turned left onto Hornets Road and made his way to Rt 95 south , then onto Rt 74 south. Getting off on the exit for Martin Luther King Jr Drive. A map is attached, showing the trailer park (R), a potential getaway route to the highway exit to 41, the three roads mentioned in blue, and the location of the found SUV. The police may have information that places the SUV at that exit; because they are interested in videos from the side roads leading from the exit. And these side roads all head toward Quincey Drive where the SUV was found. If this route was taken, this indicates someone who knows the area, and headed this route for a reason. Why? He may know a safe area out of the eyesight of the public. In the area of the three roads mentioned, I see one area that stands out- a pond off of Pope Crossing Road (image attached), which has dirt road access and and tree coverage from all directions (noted with an X). I would think this would be a place to look for evidence.

Dear The Night Watchman,

Thank you for your insightful and very informative post!

Welcome to this thread. I'm so glad you're here!

I really am curious about the results of whatever was found in/around the SUV. Will that info be enough to crack the case? Will the public be told what evidence was found?

It's hard to wait....

Dear @Inthedetails,

I am very curious as well as to what evidence was found, especially DNA.

Any DNA (from skin cells, etc.) found in the vehicle will be crucial in this case.

Even if there is no match in CODIS, the F.B.I. could utilize DNA phenotyping.

Excerpt from link (below):

"DNA Phenotyping is the prediction of physical appearance from DNA. It can be used to generate leads in cases where there are no suspects or database hits, to narrow suspect lists, and to help solve human remains cases."

This makes a lot of sense and answers my question re interest in footage near wire grass rd. I’m inclined to believe this is the route he/they took. Thank you!

Geese. No offense but what is up with Lumberton? FBI has been asking residential and commercial people with video to help. And they get silence. Get out the warrants! Do some of those off the record tactics LE uses to make these people cooperate. The ways of playing nice is over. IMO. Ps. After reading of incidents on here, I’m Never going to N.C. !
