Body found in Robeson County while FBI was following leads in search for Hania Aguilar

Robeson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shanita Wooten said on social media that she and Lumberton Junior High School Principal Dr. SaVon Maultsby "received word of the potentially tragic conclusion to the search by Sergeant Pete Locklear of the Lumberton Police Department. Upon receiving full confirmation, the district will provide increased support staff that will be made available for all students and staff at Lumberton Junior High School. This is an unfortunate end to an extensive search and we are committed to supporting all students and staff as they cope with the heartbreaking tragedy.

I think the body on Wire Grass Road is that of Hania. I think she was probably driven to this area shortly after abduction where she was killed and dumped. I believe the SUV was then abandoned about 8 miles away on Quincy Dr., where it was located about 3 days later. I'm so sorry this happened to you Hania, and pray for comfort and healing for your family.

WRAL reports that the body was found (Wire Grass Rd) about 8 miles from where the SUV was abandoned (Quincy Dr).
Wire Grass Rd is a rural area of fields, trailers, and sparse housing that is not illuminated and very dark.

That may be so, but Hania was abducted in the morning, so it would be getting light out if he headed straight to where her body was found. I wonder the chain of events with the whole horrible happening.

I believe it was before 7am when Hania was taken. I watched a news report describing the area and it's rural, homes are sparse, far apart, and a few trailers. Also think the perp knew the area and where it's secluded. It's also extremely dark at night, and not surprised she was not found earlier in that location. MOO

Yes, this whole thing just doesn't sit right with me. It was daylight. How does that SUV end up in the place where it was found? It's so poorly hidden. And how does it not get found for several days?

I just heard about the body being found and am very upset. What is wrong with these stupid jerks who only think of their own gratification? I sure hope they find this guy and he gets the death penalty. But even so, it won't bring back Hania. So devastating.

Wonder why it took so many hours to remove her body?

They process the scene for any evidence, they most likely took any evidence if any from the body before moving it. There are a lot of things to do, check and test before you move a body.

Lumberton, N.C. (WPDE) - A man grabbed a 13-year-old girl just before 7 a.m. Monday from her yard at Rosewood mobile home park on East Town Road in Lumberton and forced her into a Green 2002 Ford Expedition, according to Captain Terry Parker with Lumberton police.

Late Tuesday, Lynch said the body had been removed from the scene by officials and is on the way to the state crime lab in Raleigh for identification and an autopsy. There is no time frame for when a positive identification will be made, according to Lynch.

The FBI says it continues its investigation.

Truthfully, if they knew for sure it wasn't Hania they would have given some kind of statement, like at this time we know this is most likely not her, but them not saying and it being so close to the SUV dump site, I has to be her. Just seeing the body you know if it is small female or child, even if it is skeleton remains. You have a pretty good idea. I don't know what was left, due to decomp, animals and weather, but you still have an idea. They have to have either dental or DNA for positive ID, because it would be horrible to tell a family you found their love one and then go back and say, "oh we made a mistake". So maybe by this morning or this afternoon they will get what they need. Makes me sick for the family.
