Mods will get to it. Likely busy and one is down with a bad sinus infection.

No offense to any locals of Lumberton/Robeson County but does anyone there ever think there is a serial killer living amongst the good folks? It just seems like an unusual amount of murders for such a small population. I've been close to the town there when driving from Roanoke to Myrtle Beach. I usually don't go that way but have accidentally ended up on I-95 several times when missing my Route 501 coming home from the beach. I'm really gonna be aware now and afraid to ever get off the Lumberton exit for a pit stop. Very sad and bad things happening there and it seems like a town with very pretty landscapes and water. I'm just gonna stick to my valley of little mountains here where we still haven't found poor little baby Arieanna Day's body. Prayers for everyone there and hoping they can get these criminals off the streets.

I wouldn’t exit there either imo.

This perp should have served 12 years + 9 months for a felony but yet he is let out.
He was locked up yet again and served 1 month and a half on a 6 month sentence...where are the guidelines in this county????? How does this happen? What is the rational of letting this monster walk among us?
This perp served very little time and was pushed to parole for each offense-after reading his long, long crime sheet--anyone could have picked this guy out just as I did on November 13th.
I think the judge who let him out to prey on children has some explaining to do...

That’s why it keeps heppening over and over. No One Cares!

This guy KIDNAPPED a girl while he was on parole from RAPE and KIDNAPPING another girl.

Man on parole for kidnapping, rape arrested after victim escapes to safety

Me neither. I went to the Starbucks there right off the highway and that was about it. It's a pretty run down area with a lot of crime, but you can see how they are trying to fix things up a bit. Unfortunately, after two nearly direct hits from hurricanes within about two years, it's hard to allot more money to those projects.

How cruel for this man to do this as if it is a sick twisted game.

It has to hurt the families to see this purposefully done by this creep who is playing with people's life during the worst tragedies they have ever endured.

Can he be charged for purposefully putting out false information on such serious matters?

No one should do this and not be held accountable imo.

Why in the world would anyone do something like this? How is he still a reporter?

It seems he has been charged before. I was so disappointed that the post was false, but so glad that I was able to post about the hoax here so it wasn't perpetuated. This family only has a short time left to "hope" and they deserve that. Being new here I do agree with the poster who asked that all of those posts related to the false information be removed. Simply because it will make it far easier for me to catch up on this long thread.

Drugs and poverty does that to a community. IMO

I requested this earlier today in light of a member posting kudos (#854) to the BrianL42384 member who posted all the hearsay crap last night. However, no WS authority (moderator? administrator?) has yet to remove it. WHY is it still here????
I don't know why either! However, my personal experience is that posts are removed more timely if self reported. MOO

I think the body on Wire Grass Road is that of Hania. I think she was probably driven to this area shortly after abduction where she was killed and dumped. I believe the SUV was then abandoned about 8 miles away on Quincy Dr., where it was located about 3 days later. I'm so sorry this happened to you Hania, and pray for comfort and healing for your family.

Seems this mileage was also on my radar, again not trying to sound like I know it all and tooting my own horn, just saying so far if the information is correct about 20ish miles and 8ish miles then these would fall within the potential common mileage ranges I’ve noted previously.

Post for reference:
“Argh 6 to 8 miles is also on my magic number list...snip...
I am not trying to sound like I know it all. Just saying I have been tracking disposal site mileage since I got here and these numbers come up.“

—at the above link there are some thoughts re: the potential distance of the car from the body, marking to review after PC bc these have some thoughts as related to the type of possible offender, moo.

Anxiously awaiting this PC.

This is one of those “cases” where I was really worried Hania may never be found.

I could not agree with this more! If I let my kids do half the things I did at their age, a neighbor would call CPS or the police in a heartbeat. I used to be a latchkey kid in the early 90s--and nobody thought a thing of it: my mom was a teacher and my dad was in LE! But a girl my age was SA walking in a field behind the houses one day, the parents kept it all hush hush, but they still let us run around. My kids are always within my eyesight or another responsible party, and they wear GPS watches too. Hopefully we're deterring some of these horrible crimes with our watchful eyes and smartphones and cameras, or at least catching the perps quicker.

No kidding. I was a latchkey kid in the late 80s/early 90s. My primary caretaker was my live-in grandmother because my mom had a long commute and worked long hours and my dad traveled a lot for his job. When my grandmother died, I was on my own at 8 years old. I got myself up in the morning and I came home to an empty house. When I went out to play, I would ride my bike pretty far to the woods or new neighborhoods under construction. I don't have kids, never will, and the state of our world (such as the reason we're here) is one of the reasons I won't. But I just can't imagine ever being comfortable letting my kids out of my sight.

You were also correct in the Jessica Ridgeway case. You need to play the lotto or go to Vegas.

Less than an hour to go. I just pray they get whoever committed this evil act.

Presser should happen in 45 minutes. I know I don't even have to ask all of you wonderful ppl for the link. TIA

Seems like whoever did this, it will be "the usual" in teen abduction cases - sexual predator stalks victim then abducts, sexually assaults and murders them and dumps the body near scene of crime.

I would be shocked at this point if whoever the perp was hadn't methodically stalked Hania, likely unbeknownst to her waiting for the time to strike. Tragic loss of a young life and destruction of a family; I don't think the poor girl ever saw it coming :(.

(Counting down the minutes...)

Bittersweet. Glad she has been possibly been found, but not for this situation. You guys know what I mean.

Hope that $&)( left DNA.
