I am just not nice enough to make such a comment. Mine would be filled with vitriol for the son of a bee that took my daughter. I really am questioning her comment myself, because it could be taken several ways- one of them being that she didn't care about her daughter being taken.

Yes, but would you express that on TV while that person still HAD your daughter? Would you risk angering him and causing him to injure or kill her? Whoever this person is, he's the only one who can give this mother her daughter back. Begging is really her only option.

You know, all along I had in the back of my mind is "What if the adult did in fact tell her not go and start the car" What if this was the plan? What if she grab the keys and went out expecting to see someone out there in this odd location at this odd time. Only to be witnessed by a younger sister that misinterpreted what she saw. Now, before I get crucified on here, I am constantly seeing the circle we are running into, how and why. Now I am just putting this out here as a theory if the Aunt "Did" tell her no as the article stated she says. I think of the other case of Brooklynn Hays that it seems she was lured away and need the means to do it. This is the last time ill post this theory as my main thought is the child predator neighbor. But, something to chew on when I keep hearing the "We said no to her taking the keys" And we think, they are just covering that piece of the story and its trivial. Regardless, she needs to be home..

I an not here to crucify you. But the family did hear her scream and t see two adult witnesses saw the whole thing and called 911.

Catching up again. I know it's a long-shot that the Boone incident is related to HNA's abduction. I was nervous mentioning it at first because I tend to think outside the box in these cases. Sometimes I'm right, mostly I'm not.

*If* the perp ended up in Boone, I think it would be because he was just driving with no real plan until he ran out of gas. That would be about a half a tank, depending on lots of factors. The FBI will know by now how much gas was in the SUV. I don't think it would be crazy for someone to backtrack to Hickory after dumping the Ford. It's a straight shot down the mountain. *I feel like the perp is local to Lumberton, and is going to need to get back home before people realize he's missing.*

One thing, though, if it were the same guy in Hickory, I would expect him to just shoplift some food or clothes instead of commit an armed robbery for money. What would he need to buy if he were on the run?

Unfortunately, there are barns and fields and hidden country roads everywhere up in those hills where the Ford and HNA could be hidden. If LE thinks there may be ANY connection to the Boone carjacking, they should ask people to check their property. If they can't make that leap, maybe they should ask people to check their property for the SUV stolen in Boone (and perhaps find the other one.)

It also struck me immediately that both vehicles were SUV's. Wonder what kind of vehicle the stick-shift that he tried to steal first was? I'm not going to lie, it made me snicker that he couldn't drive the stick.

No offense taken, thats the first time I heard the screaming element to the story. Like I said it was just as the story progress and the "Not letting her get the keys" part came out.. This too helps clear up how desperate the situation is.. too much time has passed..

I took it as Mom is desperate for her daughters return and doesn’t want to say anything to cause her further harm. Like just let her go and we won’t come after you.

I totally agree and I wonder if LE helped her craft that statement as a standard response to help ensure the safety of the kidnap victim.

I’ve made the drive on I-95 through Lumberton hundreds of times over 30 years. It is an area I haven’t stopped in since Michael Jordan’s dad was murdered there. Rural but with I-95 running through. Poor and 2 hurricanes hit Lumberton hard. Drugs are a big problem.

Why go to Boone, unless the kidnapper is from Boone, when you could be in Atlanta in 5 hours or Savannah in 3 hours or Richmond in less than 4? More places to hide or dump a car and carjacking is a daily occurrence
in Atlanta, where I live.

And then there’s this

I agree as well. Although there are many things mom and others may want to say, no doubt the FBI had a hand in the mom's statement to aid in bringing HNA home. Her statement was read by FBI Supervisor Andy Delarocha at yesterday's presser:

I just want my daughter back with me. I'm here waiting for you. I love you and only care about you. And I don't have anything against whoever did this to you-- I just want you back.
FBI offering $15K in search for abducted Lumberton girl

In yesterday's presser, he further shared the resources available, including a number of Spanish-speaking agents:

The FBI has brought in a number of resources to help find Hania. Agents and analysts from across North Carolina are here on the ground helping with this investigation.

The FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment, or CARD team, arrived yesterday afternoon. The team has specialized training in investigating missing children cases.

We also have a number of Spanish speaking agents, task force officers, and detectives, on scene with us.

That is exactly my own impression. She is trying very hard not to ire the kidnapper.

I have seen other parents say the very same thing when their child was taken.

Isn't it in MSM somewhere that mom wants her identity protected? Isn't that kinda unusual?
It doesn’t surprise me at all. It may be partly a cultural thing (no disrespect intended with that statement), but it may also be related to fear of potential gang involvement. I can very much understand her reluctance. My opinion only :)

Probably not, but it would be best if hubby did the interviews instead. When it comes to one of my own, I couldn't handle it- I am too emotional, and I admit it. I give these parents credit for keeping calm and cool in front of the camera. Of course, I would never do anything to jeopardize my child's return- I may have just misinterpreted her comment and put myself in her spot, know what I mean?

The part of the witness statements where I was trying to better understand is if she was really outside of the car standing at the time of the abduction and where were the keys. This part of the article seems to answer this.

From the sound of one of the witnesses it sounds like she had already started the car and left keys in the car and then was standing outside the vehicle when he approached and forced her back in the vehicle.

Which would imply he wanted her for some reason.

So he either wanted her personally or one other reason I had thought about is if there are any toll booths close by where maybe he wanted her to drive through the toll booth area so he could hunker down and not be caught on video at the toll booth.

Is there any toll booths on any of the common exit routes when leaving that town? Going in any direction like maybe he did go Southeast?
Or any other close by spots where a vehicle would drive through cameras?

"In a 911 call, one of the callers says the kidnapper took the girl into a family car that was already running. Hania was outside waiting to go to school, the caller said."

Kidnapped teen was forced into family car that was already running, 911 caller said

Initially I had the great hope that the perpetrator took her as a hostage just until he made his way to a safer place for himself and then would let her go.

This is such a terrifying situation and my heart goes out to Hania's family.

May beautiful Hania be found safe somewhere and soon. Very soon.

No toll roads in NC except in Raleigh area. Unless something changed recently.

IMO- And this is an interesting cultural area with the Lumbee Indians, who are believed to be the descendants of the original Native Americans and the “Lost Colony”.

Do we know which school H attended?

I have gone over and over what may have happened and why in my head. I even entertained the thought that this was a set-up for her to run off with a young man. Regardless, she is 13, a child, if starting the car was not her normal routine, and if the scream was a part of a set-up, then she was groomed and lured. Personally, I think this was gang related, and that makes me sad that things won't end well. All speculation, JMO, MOO. Praying for her safe return.
