MISSING PERSON
Hannah Marie Hayes is a 20 year old white female that has been reported missing. She stands at 5’2 high and weighs approximately 125 pounds. Her last known location was leaving her Lumberton home to job hunt in Wilmington NC. Her father has not heard from her since January 27, 2019 and has become very worried. If the public has any information regarding Hannah Marie Hayes please make contact with Detective Belinda McNair at the Lumberton Police Department (910)671-3845. Please share with as many friends as you can in the Wilmington, NC area.

According to Google Maps, the distance between Lumberton and Wilmington is 86 miles. Did Hannah have a vehicle? Hopefully she didn't hitchhike to Wilmington.

When was Hannah supposed to come home? Was she looking to move to Wilmington? Did she have friends there that she could stay with while looking for a job? What sort of job was she looking for and did she have any interviews scheduled? I imagine it would be pretty tough to get hired on the spot by just coming in without an appointment, although I am sure it happens.

Oh No! Not another missing Lumberton woman,

Exactly my first thought! I can understand women wanting to get out of Lumberton, but I hope she wasn't so eager to relocate that she took risks. Yes, more information on the circumstances of her job hunting and planned travel would be helpful to the public in looking for her. MOO.

My VW Jetta broke down in Lumberton on I-95 when I was a Junior in college (about 10 years ago). I sat there on the side of the road for an hour waiting for the tow truck. A local cop pulled over after about 35 minutes and said "am I the first cop to stop for you? Have you seen any other cops drive by?" I told him he was the first to stop and I had noticed at least one other cop drive by he said "WOW my supervisor will not be happy to hear about this" Not sure if that was a normal response, I was a 20 year old female sitting on the side of I-95 afterall, but he seemed very disturbed no other cops had stopped to wait with me- and that was 10 years ago.
Knowing what I know now about all these people that keep going missing/murdered in Lumberton gives me the chills to think about what could have happened in that 35 minutes I was sitting there. REALLY hoping Hannah shows up and is okay. I couldn't believe I was seeing another Lumberton post. This is just scary.

I agree--very strangely reported story and very confusing as to what happened to her. It would be nice if there was a clearly written follow-up story reporting that she actually got home safe, and if there was any foul play involved, arrests, etc. I'm left wondering if she was lured into some bad situation in Wilmington under the pretense of a legitimate job interview. MOO.
