Is there somewhere she liked to go when she was younger? Have those types of areas been checked?

I ask because a similar missing scenario happened with a friend's dad. He was missing a couple of days in VA in the winter. He was eventually found (safe!) by railroad tracks. He used to love trains when he was younger. They theorize he may have headed toward the sounds of trains. He was about 15 miles from home.
I was really impressed with how much area the family had searched and they did check the places she knows.

Most of the articles are 2 days old. The HPPD did not want people searching the first 2 days while they were out with Greensboro Fire and Rescue Guilford EMS. After they scaled back by Friday the family and locals went back over some already searched areas and expand the search out further.
I am guessing 100 people and more were still coming by the time I set out. A couple people were to come and use drones.
Some went door to door and some drove certain areas.
Checking retention ponds were a good idea I heard mentioned.
I heard she was seen by 2 people in the Whitehall(?) area but that was on Thursday. The people had no idea she was missing or in need of help.
I am fearful with it being so hot and her being dehydrated she may have looked for water. It was mentioned to not only look for an upright Heddie but for her to be lying down or sitting also.
Pray she is found safe soon.
Yes, sitting or lying down. She may be seeking shade huddled underneath a tree. Never give up hope. My mama is 83 and I think I would be crawling anywhere I could think of trying to find her. You never know how close to the ground she (or even little ones) can be.

Just wanted to chime in and say a big THANK YOU to @cuffem and @Podengo for updating us on the local news and searching for Miss Heddie! I am also glad her family seems to love and care a lot about her and has carefully swept her familiar areas. I've been thinking about Heddie today. I really am hoping that she is alive and can be brought safely back to family and get necessary medical attention. We as a society need more attention for our elderly and otherwise vulnerable missing adults IMO.

I started a thread for Jack Tribble in Bluffton, SC. Very similar circumstance. He went missing from an assisted living/memory care home on Tuesday and has not been found.

Heddie has not been found? Her family must be crazy with worry.

Searched for ten hours today with no luck. Drones searched the waterways. Two air scent dogs searched with no hits. Sad day for searchers. Today and yesterday were hot, sunny days. There have been no sightings or useful info. They will be searching again tomorrow at 10am. Meeting at Lowes Foods again, 1236 Guilford College Road, High Point.

Thanks for updates. How is the weather there at night? Is it warm enough for her to not get too cold?

65° plus have been the lows. Yesterday late afternoon we had a pretty hard rain in the area where she was last seen so she quite possibly went into that night wet. :(

Gosh this is sad and very worrisome. I agree that she couldn’t have gone far. Maybe she was picked up and taken to a hospital by someone? I assume that’s been thoroughly checked out though…

Wow! 10 hours is too much in the heat. I am not in that great shape.Bless you for working so hard to find her.
I do not think she crossed 68 or Wendover and Guilford Fire and Rescue needs to get boats out on High Point Lake and Deep River.

This is something I hadn't considered - maybe she's in a hospital as a Jane Doe and can't remember her name? Since this case appears to not be taken very seriously by LE (hope I can say that without getting into trouble) IMO, maybe they have not been aware that a woman matching Heddie's description was checked into a hospital. Or if she wandered into another jurisdiction, that could present an issue too.

I would hope they would have checked it out! But it doesn’t… I agree. She is as vulnerable as a child for sure though.

Continuing to hope for this woman’s safe return home.

Pondengo, I was wondering about the meeting at Loews, is this because they will be searching Gibson Park?
I feel sure they have searched Gibson quite a bit already. They are assigning areas all around the area. Gibson may be one, though. They are leaving to search areas in cars. I think Lowes is just a good location with a lot of parking.

Such things are always checked.
Well, at least in my country.
All local hospitals are notified - it is the 1st thing Police do.

Checked a section of the greenway off Tarrant that I did not check yesterday. This section has a warning sign and not many go there. I also checked a pond off the trail. Her flyer is everywhere and most people I have spoken to know about her disappearance. I could barely stand the heat/humidity, I do not think she could for very long I am afraid.
I think professional searchers with gear need to be called in to search heavy brush in the wooded areas and dive teams for the lakes.
I have no idea how that works and who covers the cost. For the county to search for 2 days and then we hear nothing from them on the news or Facebook is bothering me.
I do not think she is anywhere that is easily seen.
Please God lead someone to her.

Thank you for your update and for helping. Absolutely that should be done. She needs to be found.
