I’m so sorry. My condolences to all who loved her and tried to help her. There was such a valiant effort to find her in time.

Some Family members were on 11pm news on channel 8 and 2 saying how grateful they are she was found. Today was going to be the last day of search. No press conference.
A vigil will be held at a Baptist Church tomorrow but I did not catch which one or what time. The news sites have not posted it yet.

Thanks for the info. While I am very saddened for her family, I am glad they have answers.

I’m so very very sad (and frightened) hearing this. My mama is 83 with such severe dementia she can’t be left alone without her disappearing out in the neighborhood. Every time we find her, she says she’s walking the sideways (there are no sideways) in the sunshine waving at the neighbors. She tells us in tears that no one cares about her anymore and that they think she’s a silly old lady cause nobody waves back. I’m gonna call Mama right now…

I'm so saddened at this outcome. Rest peacefully Ms. Heddie. Thoughts and prayers for her loved ones. What a community effort was made. That is the only bright spot in this sad situation. That the community rallied as it did all focused on finding her.

The home owners where she was found had been out of town and arrived that day. Fox 8 was following the searchers as they came across the area. It was a family friend who first saw her. The rainbow at the end gave me tears.

This report shows info on how the Silver Alert works and the response in High Point. Discusses what is dementia and tips on what to do if they wander.

Thanks so much to the locals for continuing to search and keeping Ms. Heddie out front. I'm so very sad that she didn't make it. May she rest in Heaven, safe in the arms of our Lord.

This is so heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who love Ms. Heddie. Thank you to everyone who selflessly gave their time, effort and resources to help find her. I have a gut feeling Ms. Heddie positively impacted many lives during her lifetime and will continue to do so long after she arrives in her heavenly home. May she rest in eternal peace. :(

I had to post hopefully one last time in Heddie's thread because I am so proud of this community and moved by the love shown for strangers. I had been really down lately about the world and all the horrible things in the news but now feel so much hope and grateful to live here.

This footage is from her memorial service tonight with hundreds attending. Miss Heddie was a former High School guidance counselor. She touched many people and this will effect future missing persons cases in our area.

You live in a very special place.
Isn't it amazing where we find strength sometimes?

Oh wow, that’s so sweet! Thank you so much for sharing!
I’m so glad that something like this has brought you hope as well in humanity. It’s rough out there at times. <3
