I've been following this case for quite awhile now.
If they hadn't been adopted by Molly in the time she and Jason were married I'd say there was a good reason for that.
Beyond thankful they were returned to Ireland to be with their family and their dad's wishes honored, just as it should be.
May justice be served quickly.

Yes, menmo, I think there was a very good reason that Molly wasn't able to adopt the children. If the marriage was healthy, why not??? Maybe the marriage was coming to an end? Sometimes people can't handle the rejection.

Glad to hear of the indictments.

This woman's FB page IMO tells a very different tale than the one she is attempting to "sell." Her dead husband appears to have provided her an expensive life of travel, fancy clothes, nights out, a lovely home...and the luxury to be home all day.

Guess who probably took all the pictures of her "posing" with the children? Probably the man who she and her Dad allegedly murdered.

Why does her FB page show only one picture of these kids that supposedly she adored prior to her "campaign" after the murder of her husband?

I'm sure she will argue that she was "abused." It's her only hope. But i hope the jury will require more than her word or that of her family.

Her fb makes me sick. Every single post about how much she misses the kids comes across as out of touch and fabricated, and the mentions of bad times and how hard things were is an obvious ploy to plant the idea that there was abuse. I hate that she's trying to use the poor children as a medium for bashing their father and guardians.

So much ugh.

So glad that she and her father have been charged with murdering this decent, honest, man, and leaving his two children orphans. I have insider information from a family friend in Ireland. Molly Martens is out of control and until now, has never been told "no" in her life. Shame on her parents for not getting her the help she so desperately needed, earlier in her life. Instead, they shipped her off to Ireland to be a nanny. Classic enabling. :maddening:

Hmm, never been told no. Sounds like another spoiled rotten murderous Ethan Couch. IMO.

I'm wondering if the Father is covering for his daughter?...

Some very damning releases from many sources in the media yesterday...all of which can be accessed from the Facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/BringJackandSarahHome

The 9-1-1 call.

The fact that the parents quickly changed plans to come there.

Jason had purchased tickets for himself and kids to return to Ireland without her. He had begun moving money to Irish accounts. He was actively looking for a job in England or Ireland. Essentially, he and the kids were leaving her.

The father was staying in a basement guest room...but claims yo have heard the fight and hit him with the bat. He said that Jason was choking her. But police found NO MARKS on either one of them. Also, the Father said he had the bat because it was a gift for the son and he had "forgotten" to give it to the boy. The boy said he gave him that bat LAST YEAR and it was in the garage.

There are also reports of abuse toward the son...explosive tempers...holding the child under a running faucet because she was accident splashed.

Mollie has also moved large sums of money to herself from accounts since his murder.

Pure speculation. But my guess is that is exactly what's going on. He was leaving with the kids. There goes her lifestyle and the little girl to whom she was apparently most attached.

I wonder if they will release the autopsy. I wonder how many wounds the poor man had? And where n his head they were? Was he hit from behind?

I wonder if there was blood found on the bed?

A sister of her slain husband Jason Corbett (39) has alleged Ms Martens (32) engaged in a series of incidents involving violence against her young stepson Jack. Tracey Lynch also claimed the murder accused confided to a family friend she "wanted to leave Jason because she did not love him any more and did not care what happened to him
It was claimed Ms Martens said she had "reconnected with an old boyfriend on Facebook".

Snip

One document said Ms Martens had told many of her friends in the US she had been penpals with Mr Corbett's first wife Mags, who died suddenly in 2006.
Mrs Lynch said she "became aware of this lie" when she attended her brother's wedding to Ms Martens, his family's former au pair, in 2011.
She alleged during a court hearing that "Molly flipped out at the wedding and completely lost control and began screaming at Jason and at my husband... She threw her chief bridesmaid and her parents out of the wedding."
She is said to have been upset because a guest was allergic to some of the wedding banquet meal and went to get a McDonald's instead.

I imagine witnesses to her alleged rages can be brought to court. She's going to have a hard time explaining why there were no bruises on her neck if she was being choked.

The parents will have to explain why they changed plans to run up there.

I think she believes her blondie looks will sway everyone as it does Daddy. But that can be countered by witnesses who expose her volatile personality...things they have seen in the past.

Funny that Dad is so calm, not panting like an elderly man who has just used repeated force to beat a man to death.

Whoever attacked this man...from the sounds of his multiple injuries...all over his body...was in a rage. This does not sound like a Father who bopped a man on the head to get him to "up hand" his daughter. Both the bat and a concrete brick were used repeatedly.

IMO, no way was this done by Dad.

Autopsy

Jason Corbett, 39, was found dead in the early morning hours of Aug. 2, 2015, at his home at 160 Panther Creek Court in the Meadowlands, a golf course community in Davidson County. His wife, Molly Corbett, and her father, Thomas Michael Martens, a retired FBI agent, have been charged with second-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter. According to search warrants and a 911 call, Martens told investigators that he struck Jason Corbett with a baseball bat and a concrete paving brick. He told investigators he had no choice because Jason Corbett was choking Molly Corbett in their master bedroom.

According to the report, Jason Corbett had multiple blunt force impact sites, including two large complex, branched, full-thickness cuts to his scalp. He also had skull fractures, including a hinge fracture at the bottom of his skull, the autopsy report said. Other than a white metal ring on his left finger, Corbett arrived "unclad and no clothing."

The autopsy report said that Corbett had bleeding along several areas of the brain, including a subarchnoid hemmorrhage, which is bleeding between the two membranes that surround the brain. Corbett also had epidural and subdural hemorrhages, the autopsy report said. The report also indicated head injuries, including contusions.

Corbett also had scattered abrasions and contusions on his torso and other parts of his body. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.02 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

I think you are right, stmarysmead. IMHO, I believe Molly attacked him, and then called daddy to help her finish the job. Thomas Martens, being a former FBI employee, would certainly know how to incapacitate a person, without killing them. I believe they took their time, getting the story straight, before dialing 911. I don't think they actually performed CPR on Jason, as they knew it was too late. :twocents:

IMHO

I would think the only way Molly could have done this would be if Jason had been sleeping initially. He is quite larger than her. And how could either Molly or her father have no injuries from Jason defending himself. Story just doesn't add up.

I find it extremely odd Jason never allowed Molly to adopt the children - even in the beginning. Why wouldn't he want her to be their legal mother? She is tending to them as a parent every day - not a nanny anymore? Why would he marry her if he didn't want her to be a legal mother?

I found the www.evoke.ie website a good source for a lot of news articles regarding this case.

There is no way that there was a paving brick in the Master Bedroom and the child said his bat was in the garage. So someone went outside and in the garage foraging for weapons.

Daddy certainly isn't going to be taking the time to run around collecting weapons, if he has come upon a scene where his daughter is being choked. Think about that for a minute. You'd pick up a lamp, something close, to make the attack stop.

I think it went more like this. I think everyone went to bed but Molly. ( the autopsy said that the victim was nude, when found, and that may be how he normally slept...butI doubt he was parading around that way.)

I think she gathered her weapons in a rage and went back up to the bedroom and hit him first in the back of the head with the bat. He may have just been stunned...and stumbled out of bed. I bet she kept swinging and he fell to the floor. Dad heard the commotion...came upstairs and found Baby Girl pummeling her husband with the brick, the bat....over and over.

He pulls her of him...tries to calm her....and then they concoct the "Save Molly" story. InDad's mind , his perfect daughter was being "abused" because she was not getting her way...and her husband was going to throw her off the financial gravy train. Dad rationalizes that his Little Murderer was "provoked" and decides they will use the "abuse excuse" and he will be the Defender-Hero.

Molly's parents are 2015's George and Cindy Anthony. They are going to lie, lie, lie...and make excuses in the name of parental love. Just think...they were even assisting their rage-aholic daughter in trying to get custody of the murder victims children!

Incredible!

Unfortunately for them...there was not a mark of violence in either one of them. And the room did not fit the "Donnybrook" lie. This poor man was defenseless when attacked. The autopsy will tell the story. The blood spatter will tell the story.

That FB page of hers....the real one....has a story to tell too.
