The blood on her face was dry.

Yep that's where my train of thought went aswell...I would suggest it's also unusual that Jason sought help for snoring issues a couple of weeks before Molly sought help for trouble sleeping, surely the two are linked?

I'm a little confused about whether they were sleeping in the same room or not. Maybe due to the snoring they were sleeping apart?

Or maybe because he was done with her...they were sleeping apart.

Reporter Hewlett seems to think that comment from the nurse practioner is the most crucial thing to happen in court to date:

"Yet, within the first hours of the Martens and Corbett second-degree murder trial, an 11th hour surprise emerged with potential to set this whole thing on its ear. And hardly anyone noticed."

So he wants to point it out.

This reporter sounds as if he is being bribed by the Defense to write articles in favour of the Defendants and maybe being fed information by them.

This evidence is very damning for the defense.

Do you think that's why when he died he was wearing only his wedding band?

This versus the description of her in court yesterday overreaching for the tissues...

I cannot imagine he would have taken off his wedding band until or if he had told his children the marriage was over. They would have noticed it gone. A lot of men these days wear no wedding band but those who do never take it off. MOO

I don't think it matters really...my husband sleeps nude whether I'm in the bed with him or not. What people wear to bed is determined more by habit than sexual liason IMO.

I am concerned about the level of local influence on the reporting. See this tweet in response to Ben Coley's updates, asking him not to name the witness...

He asked Molly Corbett how long her husband had been unconscious and she said, “Since we called you,” Alphin testified.

They eventually moved Jason Corbett to the ambulance. Alphin said he never detected any cardiac rhythm. Once in the ambulance, he saw the extent of Jason Corbett’s injuries, he said. There hadn’t been as much light in the master bedroom.“He had heavy bleeding to the head and face,” he said.

Alphin said he started what is known as intubation, which is putting a plastic tube into the airway so that a patient can breathe more easily. In order to do that, Alphin said he had to lift Jason Corbett’s head and chin.

“I put my hand under the scalp,” he said. “My left hand went all into the skull.”

At least one of those blows to his head was made when Jason Corbett was already dead, he said.

Blood spatters indicate that Mr Corbett was subjected to a sustained series of blows - with blood spray patterns indicating that he was, at one point, near the ground when his head was struck.

Any blow to the head that results in skull fracture would result in a loss of consciousness, he said.

A wedding band doesn't tell me much about the state of a marriage; a skull so crushed it disintegrates tells me a lot.

Could that be as a result of Molly bashing him with the brick first as the blood was dry?

 • #538
Hopefully the amount of blows sustained while he was low down can be estimated. It again contradicts defence opening statements that chocking/headlock continued all of the time until JC dropped and tm immediately phoned 911.

Imo

Great post! Very good possibility!

Maybe she did start with the paving brick.
