With all due respect, it doesn't matter who or what started the fight, if there was one. It doesn't matter what triggered this. It doesn't matter what the state of their marriage was. The only thing that matters are that a son, father, brother, husband has been horrificly slaughtered, his skull repeatedly beaten in. The only questions that need to be answered are...did Tom Martens and his daughter Molly, who have confessed, ...have a right to do this killing and...why didn't they stop?

Exactly

No he rang the 911 dispatcher from the house phone. Remember he said he didn't know the number as he was visiting his daughter. The call to 911 was made at 3:04 ish. Interesting.

All IMO

Well spotted!

Once again, Stephan, many thanks for the latest article link. I haven't read the full article yet but a few things jump out from the smaller box on the right hand side of the page. Lt Young took pictures of the back of the house. The picture shows a pile of brick pavers close to a doorway. So easily accessible from the house. I have seen nothing to suggest that there was anything spectacular about the paver found in the bedroom (to suggest it had been part of a school project).

Lt Young also took pictures of the kirtchen table where a bottle of rum and mixers were pictured. Who was drinking rum? We have only heard of JC drinking beer. His neighbour testified to this and it was also mentioned in opening by TM's lawyers that after they arrived he had a beer.

Lt Young photographed the basement bedroom; four mobile phones were pictured in that room. Why would there be four mobile phones in the basement bedroom where SM and TM were staying?

All IMO

Yes four mobile phones excluding toms which he was using. So why the hell couldnt SM have phoned 911 from the basement when the alleged altercation started? If the 2 lunatics in the bedroom were told cops were called it could have stopped them and Jason could be still alive.
Also with four cell phones in the basement , it points to a gathering in the basement between the guilty parties in order to straighten out their stories before emergency services arrived. If one of those phones is mollys to me that means she went to the basement after the murder.
Does anyone know ingredients for the cocktails molly was know to favour? Did it include rum?

Could it have been his lawyer? I know unlikely at that hour.

Molly was drinking Mojitos earlier in the day with David Fritzche's wife Michelle, they are rum based. Interesting that the ingredients for the mojitos were still out on display but the beer bottles seem to have been cleared away, as though Jason had finished drinking once Molly's parents arrived and he was no longer in the company of his friend.

The mobile phones in the bedroom was a red flag to me also...why four phones?!

And Sharon couldn't use any of them to call for more help?

I also live but a few hours away from where Jason lived in a golf community of newer homes. Every home has ceiling fans with lights in the bedrooms. Some people turn off the light feature so they can just use the fan at night. This was August in the South. Central air running and fans running as well. It's possible that was the reason.

Great to have the local knowledge, thanks Mary!

Tom's story has the bat in the guest room with him. But the paving bricks are piled outside the basement door...downstairs nearest to him and Sharon as well. It's as if the gathering of weapons took place downstairs near the guest room.

I've always thought someone steeped out of the master bedroom and opened the front door and grabbed a brick in a frenzy. But if they left the room and went downstairs, outside and upstairs again....that's quite a bit of time, isn't it? Or did two "armed" assailants come up from the basement...already with their respective weapons.

We have had that pointed out for a reason.

The other odd thing...Molly had taken legal advice about custody. Anyone can google NC law and see that abuse was her best avenue to get what she so dearly wanted. If Jason is drunk and raging and they call police...now she has "evidence" and witnesses. This is the golden opportunity.

If I'm Sharon, I'm getting the police there ASAP...because if Jason is winning this alleged fight upstairs...that's my husband and my daughter being hurt...and I certainly can't stop him. But the police can and then we can start this whole process of using DV to get custody.

But she didn't call. Guess she knew who was getting hurt.

Their stories make no sense. Pure fantasy.

That is strange isn't it? I can't come up with a reason for that.
4 adults in the house. If we assume they had a cell phone each then one of them may have been Jason's.
If that was the case why would sm have it.

There may be calls, internet searches that would provide a question of murder 1?

Just my fiction not facts

My guess would be his brother in law, also FBI, who became the family spokesman.

Is the stairs into the garden from top floor off the master bedroom?

My concern is why the four phones were found in the bedroom of someone whose primary role is using 'advanced technologies' 'to mitigate problems' ....

No it's off the dining area associated with the kitchen. But there is direct access from the basement (outside of which lay the pile of paving slabs) and the stairs leading from the basement level comes up to the ground floor directly opposite the door to the master bedroom.

Yes and he had put on red shorts before he went outside so he had been back in the room to grab his shorts [emoji6]

I think this must be dodgy reporting again...from what I can gather her was wearing a red polo shirt and boxers during the altercation. Once outside, he wasn't permitted to re-enter the home to use the bathroom in case he contaminated the scene.I presume therefore the police must have provided him with shorts at some point before he was transferred to the police station for questioning?

Hey why no blood reported on the stairs by paramedics or the porch? LE no mention either. Mm left the room and went to open front door as instructed during 911 call she was also told to turn a light on in porch ???

Where is the trace on the stairs carried from room on feet, where is the blood from turning porch light on? ? Was she clean ? Had she cleaned after the fact and not actually entered the room until she heard tm say they are here?

You can shout from anywhere, 1, 2, 3, 4, was he on cordless phone also not near body ?

Just my fiction not facts.

We have TM coming up with the bat. But did someone go downstairs and then back up again with the brick? That's time to think about what you are doing,

Or were two people downstairs and came up with their weapons? Did they go at him, asleep, at the same time?

Brilliant observation. There were pools of blood on the floor. Why were her feet clean when she walked to turn the lights on?

More than that why was their NO footprints down the stairs to porch and also the basement bedroom. Can you see either of them NOT telling sm when running to or from the door to get up ! It's jason! He's dead he tried to kill molly!

And that's being fair because I don't think she was asleep

Where is the trail, nothing reported except for upstairs
