The validity of a will is the rules of the country that it’s presented too. JC will is invalid in Ireland but not if probated from NC for Ireland..

Irish law there is strict rule a remand in custody for serious offenses and brought back from prison if the trial judge needs time to deliberate.

Here the Judge can remand them immediately but if they are not considered a flight risk they will usually allow bail to continue and give the convicted an opportunity to use the time between trial and sentencing to take care of their personal business. ( such as mail forwarding, closing up their living quarters and such, drop newspaper delivery or throw out the milk LOL)

In the event of an appeal the Judge again has discretion but usually murderers await appeal while incarcerated lessor charges may be allow to remain free.
