The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing person. 45-year-old Jennifer Hollowell Watkins was last seen in the early morning hours of June 27, 2025, on VOA Rd. in Washington.

Watkins was last seen wearing a teal in color t-shirt, black leggings, and flip flops. Watkins was possibly carrying a green back pack and was last known to be on foot.

The first of the two photos was telling - that's a booking shot IMO. She has a history of DUI, including aggravating (BAC .14). She's on foot, which makes me feel a little better than if she was driving, but if she's still drinking she's at risk of so many other things. I hope she will reach out for help, to her sponsor if she has one, a family member, a loved one. Let them know she is safe.

According to authorities, Watkins was first reported missing on Sunday, June 29, at around 10:30 a.m., and the BCSO received a Crime Stoppers tip that said a person matching Watkin's description was seen walking in the area of the rest stop on Highway 17 South, in Chocowinity, around 10 a.m., Saturday, June 28.

Missing Person Update

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the disappearance of 45-year-old Jennifer Hollowell Watkins. Watkins was first reported missing to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, June 29, at approximately 10:30 a.m. by her stepmother.

During their initial investigation, Deputies learned that Watkins was last seen in the early morning hours of Friday, June 27, on VOA Rd. in Washington by an acquaintance. Detectives have interviewed multiple acquaintances of Watkins, followed up on multiple crime stoppers tips, and searched locations identified during the investigation for further information as to where she may be located. At this time no suspects have been identified and there is no evidence of foul play.

Watkins was last seen wearing a gray dress, and flip flops as seen in the these photos. and was last known to be on foot. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Watkins.

According to sister and father, the longer this goes on, the more this story points towards domestic violence as she was apparently attempting to escape an alleged abusive partner.

It was not her, that was verified early on. That woman has a heavier build and is seen walking in that area daily.

Between June 24–26, she was seen spending time with female acquaintance. On June 26, they were out fishing. Security footage in the area confirms her being in that area that day. That night, a message was sent from the other woman’s phone saying she had lost her own phone in Aurora. Those close to her doubt it was really her sending it.
Early the next morning, around 5:50 AM on June 27, they were seen leaving a property on VOA Road, traveling several miles before pulling into another driveway near the VOA/Cherry Run intersection. By 8:45 AM, the driver was found unresponsive, the passenger side door open — and she was gone.

There was active domestic violence in the weeks before she vanished. The driver never reported her missing. Two days later, on June 29, her stepmother filed the report.

Some believe she may have overdosed and those involved hid it, while others think she was taken from the vehicle while under the influence.

None of the recent acquaintances have shared information regarding her disappearance.
