"According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers are investigating the disappearance of 26-year-old Joshua Britton.

CMPD says the call for service came in at 08:13 p.m., on Tuesday.

Officers responded to a call to meet Vernon Simpson in reference to a missing group home resident, Joshua Britton.

Simpson said Britton left their facility on foot heading towards the area of the Plaza and Eastway Drive.

Joshua Britton has cognitive issues, causing the Silver Alert to be issued.

Britton is described as a 26-year-old white man, standing 5'10" and weighing 140 pounds.

He has brown eyes and black hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue and white striped polo shirt and light blue shorts.

Anyone who sees or has information about Joshua Britton is asked to call 911 immediately.
