33 year old Jose Calderon's body was found "below Yadkin Valley Overlook at Milepost 289.8, near Boone" on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The body was found on Oct. 9, 2021. It is being considered a homicide, but the cod hasn't been released.

Brian Laundrie hunt leads cops to 5 bodies of missing persons

One of the bodies was found in Yadkin Valley Overlook in North Carolina amid rumors Laundrie was hiding out there — sparking rumors it could have been him. But the FBI confirmed it was not him, saying there was “no evidence to connect” it to his case.

He was later named as Josue Calderon, 33, by investigators who said he’d been stabbed to death.

The news release from the FBI on Thursday said Calderon traveled with two other men in a 2018 silver Chevrolet Equinox with a Florida license plate from Rhode Island to North Carolina. Both the park service and FBI are asking the public to contact them if they saw the men or the Chevrolet SUV on Oct. 6 or 7 of last year between Raleigh and Blowing Rock.

ABC6 sat down exclusively with the Calderon family back in November who told us they had no idea how or why he could have ended up there and that Josue did not have a car of his own at the time of his disappearance.

FBI Agents have now determined Calderon travelled with two other men in a 2018 silver Chevy Equinox with Florida license plate KBY E67 from Rhode Island to North Carolina. Further coverage found here.
