Perhaps she never went home that night after the bar? She is married. Maybe she "hooked" up with someone at the bar and spent the night with them and the reason she keeps changing her story is so that her husband doesnt find out....plus, the drinking again (relapse).

I thought Just the Fax had posted that she didn't go to the bar -- that she went to the grocery store in the late afternoon to pick up dinner for them?

Update on the Glenwood Grill.
I just learned she may have actually driven to the Harris Teeter grocery store (next door to GG) to buy dinner for the 2 of them. She did lock the keys in her car and walked home, apparently in the late afternoon or early evening hours.

Surely the police know way more than they are telling in this case . I feel like they have a very solid suspect and evidence but at the same time if that is true it makes me wonder why in the world they wasted the man power to pass out flyer to people iin the area in the middle of the night. I just can't figure out the purpose for that. Did they really think they would garner some information or were they doing it to make the murder feel more confident ?

IMO, I bet her excuse was to to go to the Harris Teeter, but she took a detour to GG for a few drinks. I've been to GG during the dinner hour - it is buzzing with activity, generally low key as it is a place to go for some of the more prominent, mature locals to have a nice dinner and a few drinks. It does have a rather upscale atmosphere (though the prices aren't excessive) - it may be very attractive to someone from Down East in Oriental (very small town). They do have a small bar.

Geez, if she did what we're thinking she did, she probably needed some fortitude...

BBM

Generally, yes, I think so.

Maybe it's as much what they might have seen as what they might not have seen (strange vehicle, stranger to neighborhood, activity at the Cartier house).

For example, if Dina told LE she was up at 2 a.m., but people passing by saw lights on all throughout the house at midnight, LE might wonder why she'd lie about something like that -- if she were innocent.

But for all the political connections and possible ramifications in this case, I am sure we would hear more about the details, the 911 calls, etc.

I can't help but think that "favors" were called in for tight lips from DA and LE on this case.

Well, they can't hide it forever, can they?

I drove past the house today about 5:30 pm. Crime scene tape is still up and an RPD car with officer inside was located out front. I wonder if they are keeping an officer there all the time...

i believe there has to be a car/officer there for as long as the crime scene tape is up. does anyone know the facts about this? :waitasec:

As long as it is still an official 'crime scene' being processed, the house will be guarded by the cops.

The 911 call and Search warrants are sealed until April 9, is that correct? So, how many times can the Police Department ask that these be sealed? If they are not ready for these items to be released on that day, can they ask for another 30 days as many times as they desire? Just wondering.:waitasec:

Look at how quickly the police in CA clamped down on all info regarding Chelsea King/Amber DuBois by pushing back hearing until August. Not a new fact has come out since that time. So I would imagine that LE can continue with sealing if they are not ready 4/9 and then issue a gag order at any time. This may be one of those cases that facts are quiet until a trial or a plea are reached.

IDK. Here is the judge's order. It refers to NCGS 132-1.4 which I found but did not have time to read carefully.

Judge's order

... for an initial period of thirty (30) days, subject to court order prior to this time ...

And here is NCGS 132-1.4
http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/HTML/BySection/Chapter_132/GS_132-1.4.html

(e) If a public law enforcement agency believes that release of information that is a public record under subdivisions (c)(1) through (c)(5) of this section will jeopardize the right of the State to prosecute a defendant or the right of a defendant to receive a fair trial or will undermine an ongoing or future investigation, it may seek an order from a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent disclosure of the information. In such action the law enforcement agency shall have the burden of showing by a preponderance of the evidence that disclosure of the information in question will jeopardize the right of the State to prosecute a defendant or the right of a defendant to receive a fair trial or will undermine an ongoing or future investigation. Actions brought pursuant to this subsection shall be set down for immediate hearing, and subsequent proceedings in such actions shall be accorded priority by the trial and appellate courts.

I couldn't find anything that indicated a time frame but I read through this too fast to be useful ... have to run out and just found this.

Some SW's in the MY case were sealed for 18 months.
If the cops determine this crime was likely random, I will be surprised if the judge renews the seal order. If he does, tells me the investigation is pointing squarely at the sister...IMO/

Makes sense...

That's what I was wondering earlier today...was sorta reluctant to ask ...you never know who is reading here. i guess its safe to assume that anybody who wants to follow a case will exhaust all of the internet information, and may even be interested in what the public perception is. I wondered if she had retained a lawyer early on. :back:
