As to the DP in NC.... yes, there is a guy in Johnston Co. jail that murdered a couple and they are going to ask for the DP.

I had a feeling it would be a druggie. Do they have the death penalty in NC? Probably not, but if this is indeed a guilty man I don't want a slap on the wrist. He needs to be off the streets for the rest of his life!

Maybe he has confessed, I don't know. But I don't think they would have made an arrest unless they had a good DNA match and a good case against him.

BBM

I agreee wholeheartedly. It had to match something.

"RPD praised the forensic work performed by the SBI and CCBI during the investigation."

Now that we know for a fact, it was rape, they must have collected his DNA from his semen.

With arrest record , they had his prints on file.
Wonder if he wore gloves? You would think they could have solved this quickly if they had fingerprints?

It may be they ran background checks for young males in the neighborhood.
Jason would have been a person of interest for sure because of the felony B&E. Maybe they then asked for his DNA like other men in the area.
If he refused, they could have used a page from the Stephanie Bennett case and obtained his DNA covertly.

I think it will certainly be a death penalty case.

What I can't understand is how he got someone to rent to him in that area with such a bad criminal record. The places that I have been familiar with IBL, are pretty picky.

I'm trying not to think too much right now of what I think of this defendant. It's not very Christian though.

Oh wow! Just catching up here ... and all we were wondering about the sister. I just hope KT never knew what happened to her - that she was already on her way to heaven. I do hope we eventually do get to hear step by step and hour by hour what the sister did that night. It feels like a loose end we need to tie up.

open for debate....do you think he left fingerprints? do you think he had something from the house in his possession? Do you think he used her cell phone? So we know his fingerprints were in the system...is that enough? Did they collect DNA samples from the other houses on Wayland? Knowing how hard the RPD must have worked on this case, how can we maintain an attitude of
"innocent until proven guilty"?

Much love to the family and friends, as we continue to support the search for the truth.

I bet he was casing homes to rob from the back and was wearing gloves. (this was not his 1st rodeo). I think finding KT asleep in the master was probably a random opportunity and he acted on sudden impulse.

i wonder how in the world they would find him unless he supplied DNA to the police. Why would he have done that? Unless he's "not right" as people say... Evidently there have been officers in the neighborhood watching his residence and activities. would've loved to have been a fly on the wall.

I searched for a Jason Williford in Raleigh on Facebook and came up with a guy playing a guitar which led me to MySpace and a site for a band called The Authority with a short write up on Jason Williford. Looking at the band's pictures (you have click on Pics on their page) I think this might be the same Jason Williford. All the pictures are pretty blurry. The band's location is listed as Raleigh/Greenville. Here is the link:

I can't see D inviting a 30 year old loser into the house (another theory we discussed).
But....we now know he was a druggie.....who had the bag corners:waitasec:

from post 87 just the facts.....

It may be they ran background checks for young males in the neighborhood.

If he refused, they could have used a page from the Stephanie Bennett case and obtained his DNA covertly. end of quote.

To take it a step further, after obtaining a list of poi in the neighborhood, to narrow it down even further, they may have asked the home owner, if he recognized any of the names on the list from the past, before asking for a DNA swab if that was the case. ......I have a gut feeling, that the owner and this person, has had some contact in the pass in one way or the other.

If he was a solid suspect and refused a DNA sample, they could have gotten a beer bottle out of his trash very easily.

It looks like it might be the same person. That is so bizarre. Can you imagine the reaction by fans and people in his band? Have they played in Greenville? Did he know KT from Greenville or JG in Raleigh?

I've been really angry for awhile and right now I'm just relieved. I guess I do need to keep an open mind on his guilt. How does that work on this board?

KT's ex-husband says the PD told him that they have a strong case. That's good!

I wonder who lives with this defendant and wonder if they tipped police for the reward money.

Per WRAL, Williford is the founder, bassist and singer for the local band The Authority, according to the band's MySpace page. He can be seen performing with them in a YouTube video.
