I agree laces, she's far too credible sounding and sure of herself. His smart as* tone is very condescending and must be turn off to the jury, too. He's boring everyone to death. If he has a point, I wish he would make it, move on and stop trying to recite Psych 101 lessons. I think she knows her stuff more than he does.

ETA: Ooooo, she's starting to give him quick flashes of the evil eye...

He is totally boring me with his recitation. And I'm sure the rest of the crowd. How long will this go on? He is desperately trying to make Dr. Wolfe look bad, and it just AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!

IMO, his tone and manner sounds extremely condescending towards this professional. As a juror, that would turn me off to anything he says. :maddening:

I woke with a migraine--weather, Beryl--and I can barely sit here and listen to the defense attorney attacking the good doctor--especially when he gets into that high pitched voice mode. Just sit down and be done with it please.

OOPS__Good Morning Peeps!!

Good morning. I sympathize with the migraines - I get one occasionally, my triggers are weather or hormones. Meds rarely help. This attorney may give me a headache, though. He acts like he is talking to a child, explaining away. I can't bear it.:truce:

Do you all recall when this was coming up for trial earlier this year? There was a postponement (possibly a second or third), and I seem to recall reading that a judge said to "get the psych report done - no more delays". Does anyone recall that? I'm thinking this is referring to Dr Wolfe's report, since she had brought up having a tight deadline.

I wonder why the State didn't get it done sooner. Typical government bureaucracy/SNAFU? I can't understand the State waiting until the very last minute to evaluate this inmate considering the high profile of this case.

He's not winning any friends IMHO. Do NOT like his disrespectfulness, his condescending tone and attitude towards this witness.

I'm impressed by how calm this Dr. Wolfe is as she is being antagonized by the defense attorney. In fact she's the one in charge! The defense attorney is showing his belly by getting all blustery.

He's lucky he's not questioning me. I don't feel good today, I'd want to smack the crap out of him. :banghead:

I'd like to meet this doctor and learn her techniques for remaining so calm and matter of fact. I've been in the hot seat too many times in corporate environments where I've had someone badgering me not unlike this defense attorney. Of course this doc walks away with her career intact, so that's got to help.

On one of jaybass79's profiles, I thought it was interesting that he wrote he "drinks rarely". I agree, creepy looking photos.( I always am amused by people who take pictures of themselves with all kinds of mess in the background. ) But you just have to wonder how many more JT's are out there? It's frightening. I am grateful that there are people willing to work with these patients, because I just could not do it. I did very well in psychiatric nursing, but the thought of it just scared me off. Just not tough or cool enough! JT stayed six weeks at Central Regional ! I wonder what that's like? But not enough to try it.

I so agree with you. I definitely need help in that regard, myself. ( I guess Xanax would help.) Sometimes I just want to ask some of the people I deal with, "Do you KNOW you're an 🤬🤬🤬? Or are you unaware of that fact?":chicken:

I thought the shortest 'involuntary commitment' was 72 hours? IIRC, JW was in Dorthea Dix over-night? I'd hardly consider that a *commitment*?

Hollaaaa!!

I see my favorite forensic psychiatrist is on the stand :woohoo:

To save this witness's voice, they should have a little electronic pad on the stand so that she can just punch a button for, "That's correct." or "That's not correct." She could start punching the button before the Defense asks the question.

Yeah, I don't understand all of that. It's legal-ese to protect the person committed. I do recall hearing that he was at Central Regional for six weeks at one period.

I'd like to see that button hooked up to an electrical dog collar around the DT's necks. :floorlaugh:

But that was after he was arrested for the rape & murder. IMO, the DT was attempting to suggest JW was so 'mentally ill' that he been committed in the past. My question was, the shortest period of commitment I'm aware of is 72 hours. JW was in Dix *overnight*, I doubt that's even considered a 'commitment'.

Have we figured out what books they were yet?

You can't just take someone off of Lithium. There are terrible side effects if you remove someone's psych meds. I cannot believe he is questioning Dr. Wolfe about this. A couple of things I am wondering about. How can alcoholics drink so much without throwing up? He drank 1/2 gallon hard liquor plus beer. In the hospital setting we sedate our alcoholics for about three days till they dry out....at that point, once they are well enough to go home, they start the process all over again. We don't fix what makes them drink. - Another thing I am wondering about is, what is considered "badgering the witness?" In my humble opinion, he was coming close....was he not? I have no answers, only questions.....Oh, one more thing. Drunks cannot perform sexually - so the Ritalin intoxication made that possible?
I just read that back. Forget what I said about drunks. What a dumb statement.
