Top answer: It goes back before the US partially converted to the metric system. A fifth was 1/5 of a gallon. That's been replaced by a 750 ml bottle.

Internet 🤬🤬🤬🤬, violent games, drinking, snorting, an explanation for everything these days. Poor criminals, let 'em all out, I say.

I like her hair!

For me, she is bolstering the theory that JW may have targeted KT to amp the level to feed his addiction. He was taking it up a notch.

Congrats, JW, you scored the highest she's seen. Yikes. He really doesn't seem like the sweater-vest type.

No kidding. Seriously. As someone in recovery, this kind of attitude pisses me off to no end. It is bullsh.... ---people ARE responsible for what they do. In JW's case, he KNEW he was an alcoholic and an addict, he KNEW there was a solution, he KNEW the solution had worked for him when he tried it, and yet he CHOSE not to surrender and take direction. So they can shove their "omg poor baby he didn't know what he was doing" discourse. :maddening:

That said, where's my :coffee:

I sort of like that the prosecutor is questioning from her chair. To me -and maybe to the jury- that is an indication of the relevance of the witness being low.

So did I hear her state this is the first time she's testified as an expert in sex addiction?

  • #547
So far I find this woman credible. And I believe he's a sex addict. To me though, I don't see a relationship between this and the question of pre-meditation of this crime. I get it that this guy is screwed up.

I guess they'll attempt to address their contention that this isn't premeditated at some point...wish they'd get to it though. This is all quite salacious.

Also, I am thinking that Jason had his family bring him books about SA or other types of psych stuff, thus the prosecution questions yesterday about what type of books they brought to jail for him. They'll probably contend he studied up so as to portray being psycho.

I missed that. Poor lady, but her credentials are not impressing anyone but herself. NO disrespect to social workers; but you cannot compare the training they get to that of a Clinical Psychologist or a Psychiatrist.

:what:

:what:I have been known to take elaborate notes...LOL However, I do that more in the initial stages of the investigation. LOL.

Touche!:floorlaugh:

Is there a category in the DSM (or whatevah) for us??? Are we "Trially :what:Addicted" !!?? Do we need professional help or just a law degree??

I asked my hubby, I remember asking him that once when we were young, but he can't remember anymore. :( Altzheimers perhaps? :p I remember once, long ago, he told me 'because it was a fifth of some other measurement'.

One-fifth of a gallon, IIRC.

You people are sick, I tell you, SICK! :fence: I'm certain there must be a 12 step program out there for you. :moo: Next thing we know you'll be corresponding with some guy in prison and we'll all be invited to the wedding. :woohoo:

Not laces, but no, I don't take notes during the trial. I have a fairly good memory, and I hate writing. My fingers are getting old, I prefer typing. :rocker:

You have to admit, it's so much more a harmless addiction than many others. I've been a detective junkie since I was in elementary school and women started "going missing"....back in the prehistoric era. and I'm afraid for us, there is no cure! I especially love when websleuths do their research and post it so that I won't lose my place on my two laptops....(but I still lose my place.) I could only appear in court if I had a stylist. :dramaqueen:

  • #555
Not me....I'm sure whatever criminal I wrote to would seek me out and that would be the end of me! Too scary! LOL I am pretty much a chicken.:turkey: (that's a turkey, but best I could do...)

I agree, he's screwed up. But does that in any way mitigate his guilt? John Couey, the man who buried poor Jessie Lundsford alive was also 'screwed up'. As is Joseph Duncan, the killer of the Groene family. At some point in time 'screwed up' shouldn't have any bearing IMO.

I guess what it comes down to is, Andrea Yates was 'screwed up', but her mental illness, psychosis, wasn't due to her life-style IMO. JW drank, drugged himself up, did nothing to treat his anger issues, etc. Who among us wouldn't be 'screwed up' if we allowed ourselves to indulge in any and all behaviors regardless of consequences. :moo:
