I figured it was the time the Judge wanted to get out so that he could wind down before heading home.:woohoo:

OT/ ABC is reporting yet another *suspect* in the Etan Patz case. He was 18 yrs old at the time Etan went missing. No other news right now. Supposed to be a 20/20 special on it Friday I think. This is the first missing child case I ever followed, sure wish they could solve it for Etan's parents. Such a sweet little boy, my own children were young at the time. :-(

I remember it -- and have never forgotten it -- like Adam Walsh but unsolved. I wouldn't be surprised to find a thread for it here as WS. I haven't looked, but I'm gonna... prolly not today...

Yes, Etan and Jacob Wetterling, two missing kids I wish would have some closure in my lifetime. :(

Yes, all of those mentioned... and never could forget Johnny Gosch. My kids still don't understand why I was so concerned...but someone tried to take me when I was a little girl, and I was the lucky one to get away. The perp died last year in a Florida prison, and he still scared me with those shark eyes. Some things you carry around your whole life.

Meh, no decision re:dog. I will keep you all posted. Do note: I am NOT moving to the burbs. No way Jose.

Laces, who is the woman in your avatar? At first I thought it may be Sarah Brightman but the more I look at her the more I think not.

LOL, any dog parks close by your place? When I was young I loved the city. Now that I'm old, I enjoy the boonies. So peaceful, no traffic, get to see horses and cows daily.... Maybe you could find a good home/adoption for the dog?

I was thinking about this last night - whether he has raped before. I did some reading about rapist types from something Just The Fax had posted when this case first broke. JW sounds like an "anger-retaliatory" rapist. Their frequency cycle is 6 months to a year between rapes, he rapes older women, often injures first, then rapes. The victim is at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wonder if he has been tied to any prior rapes, or if he did it before and it went unreported. Could this have been his first?

The image of Dina being on the couch the whole time is so troubling to me. This is the creepiest case I have ever heard of besides the Manson family. I mean, JW didn't even know she was there and did this within feet of her. She could have been the victim as well.

Types: http://www1.csbsju.edu/uspp/crimpsych/CPSG-5.htm

Ref Dina, Boodles, I think she was already upstairs by the time he got to the house. And the guest room upstairs is a bit of a distance from the downstairs master... If she were still downstairs and he had seen her, he surely would have been on her, and we would have had a different victim or, worse, two of them.

And yes, I've wondered about other rapes -- maybe not other murders, but who knoze? He did try to rape his wife 2-3 weeks after he did this to KT. Did he go out that night, too??

Ted Bundy lied a lot, as we all know, but one thing he said in one of his last interviews is that without doubt, looking at 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and drinking alcohol does lead to rapes and worse. I have never forgotten reading that -- it made a lot of sense to me then & now...

,
Thank you for asking, she is a fine Chinese actress, Zhang Ziyi, and she starred in an exquisite movie called "Memoirs of a Geisha".

born, why don't you believe DH's version of that night, that she was on the couch, heard someone, got up, relocked the door, and then went upstairs at 3? It fits the timeline - do you think she imagined it?

I've had a number of arguments on other sites, mostly with males, about the availability of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 online, the more graphic it's become over the years, & especially violent 🤬🤬🤬🤬 & violent video games involving sex and rape. IMO it desensitizes males at younger and younger ages these days. And combines violence with sex in psyches of males, especially those with unformed psyches. :moo:

Are they stopping each day at 4:30? If so, why....anybody know?

No - it's just for this week due to "matters" that the court principals have to deal with. It should be back to 5:00pm EDT for the rest of the trial -- as far as we know thus far...

And remember, Peeps, Monday, is a holiday & the court will be closed...

Nope -- they don't do that unless it's for something legitimate having to do with court business.

I have seen one of exception in one trial to accommodate a juror -- but this was for one day, and they either started a bit late, or closed a bit early, but nothing drastic.

Ohhh, that makes me shake, laces. Of course you haven't forgotten it. Who could? That takes my breath away -- in all seriousness. The world is better with you in it.

Goodness, that must have been so frightening, laces. I'm so glad you are safe. I can only imagine, I'm sure it's been hard to carry around. I'm glad he's dead now. Did it help you to find out he's off this earth?

This is a slam-dunk LWOP case and that should help assuage any fears. JW isn't going to be free to harm anyone ever again. He may get the DP, but I think probably not. Either way, the important thing is that KT was his first and last murder outside of prison walls.
