,
Thank you for asking, she is a fine Chinese actress, Zhang Ziyi, and she starred in an exquisite movie called "Memoirs of a Geisha".

One of the world's most beautiful women. Sylph-like.

First off, I enjoy reading these comments more than listening to the trial! I too don't think this was the first rape by JW. If not, what pushed him over the edge this fatal night. Don't think this is the first time he drank $7.50 old crow, snorted ritalin and roamed the neighborhood.
Any one recall if the rock was recovered? Wonder if it would have blood on it.

born, why don't you believe DH's version of that night, that she was on the couch, heard someone, got up, relocked the door, and then went upstairs at 3? It fits the timeline - do you think she imagined it?

I just think it makes more sense if she was upstairs when it happened. Being in the middle of the house on the sofa, there are so many things that she could have heard just before or just after he got in -- and if she got up and checked & locked the door then -- especially if she turned on the outside light, opened the front door, yelled, and then locked the door, he would have heard or seen all that & probably freaked.

It's just that I think she may have heard him enter the residence if she had been on the couch -- if he really used the plastic sign to jimmy the lock; or she could have heard him coming down the outside steps -- or both. The sofa was about 4--5 feet from the front door.

The inside stairs were about 3--4 feet from the sofa -- if he actually went upstairs & came right back down when he entered the residence (that's what he said, so who knows about that possibility), seems like she would have heard it.

The MBR door was only about 12 ft. away from the sofa -- once in the BR, he, the liar, said KT made a noise & he the bashed her head in, and seems to me, the acts he then perpetrated on her would have probably caused him to utter some kind of sounds, especially if he were drunk, and in such a murderous, monstrous state. That may have awakened her. Now he could have just waited in the bedroom for DH to do what she did -- we'll never know. That is one possibility I can figure if she had been downstairs when he came in the house. Would he have waited for her to do all that? Maybe so.

To exit the residence, he would have had to have passed within 1--4 feet of her there on the sofa if she were still on the sofa, depending on how he went to the front door from the bedroom door. And then out the door and either up the steps of the house, or over the little bridge to the back paths. It could have been his exit that woke her, and that's one more possibility that she could have been on the sofa, but I don't feel that that is what happened.

And remember that his mom said that he did nothing without noise in his clumsy way -- he was not light on his feet. The house has hardwood floors downstairs and they are noisy underfoot.

That's my take -- but DH could be absolutely right -- I am certainly not saying she was misrepresenting what she thought had happened. She was there and I wasn't, that's for sure.

Just goes to show one of the advantages of THC over nicotine.

The rock wasn't presented as evidence, so no, slooth. Pretty darn clever weapon, IMO. Easy to discard and who would know? This guy did have something he was good at, eh? Burgling -- but not rape in his own neighborhood that was a fail...

Stick around, slooth and join in the snappy repartee. You know how to spice it up & add to the smarts! :seeya:

I've had a number of arguments on other sites, mostly with males, about the availability of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 online, the more graphic it's become over the years, & especially violent 🤬🤬🤬🤬 & violent video games involving sex and rape. IMO it desensitizes males at younger and younger ages these days. And combines violence with sex in psyches of males, especially those with unformed psyches. :moo:

Very true. There is scientific research that bears this out. As does the violence in some of today's music-- thehip hop, gansta, etc. genres. Leads to the same mindset as what is being listened to over and over again.

Personally I don't know how things got so out of hand in this country, I guess I'm an old prude. Even the mildest tampon commercials on tv embarrass me if there are others in the room.

My assumption with DH's version of what she heard is that she might have been intoxicated herself that night. With her alcohol issues, that are severe as has been reported, her own senses have probably been dulled over time and her reaction time may be slower too.

And who knows, maybe JW was able to be a lot more quiet than he would be in his own home.

What is certain is for whatever reason, DH only heard some footsteps and a few other noises, but didn't piece anything together or investigate more than saying, "who is in this house?" and opening a door to look.

Goodness, that must have been so frightening, laces. I'm so glad you are safe. I can only imagine, I'm sure it's been hard to carry around. I'm glad he's dead now. Did it help you to find out he's off this earth?

To tell you the truth, it still scared me, because I saw that he became a career criminal, continuing to terrorize and kill women. I wondered if I had been his first attempt - which failed, causing him to refine his technique. It was a relief to know he could not show up at my door, having tracked down the little girl from years past who identified him. But he still scared me with those cold eyes. I know it was a very long time ago, but it never went away. I think any of you who have experienced similar childhood events understand. I obeyed my intuition, which shouted "NO" in my ear, and I ran the hell away, leaving strands of hair in his hands.

I can't follow along tomorrow. Work calls. However, I will be looking for all your remarks and comments when I can review the videos. You all take care,

Childhood traumas are so damaging, I'm glad you were able to get away from him, and glad he is dead now. I used to be very anti-death penalty in my younger years, until one case just struck me. I don't recall any names or anything, it was just the usual hype about protesters outside a prison, etc. The crime was the rape and murder of a toddler, she was drown in a mud puddle after she was assualted. The news commentator was reporting that no one had shown up for the usual protest outside the prison at the time of the DP. And I thought to myself, WTF would show up? Some crimes are so henious, they deserve to be put down like a rabid animal. My feelings at that time changed to 'when there is no doubt, and the crime is SO CRUEL, then my opinion is give 'em death. Let the victims, the loved ones left behind, not have to deal with this person ever again in their lives.

Wow, laces -- I'm sure you don't want to discuss, but i just want to say that I'm sure that brave little girl is still in there, and she is protected by this woman of steel named laces.

I have thought about this before too and maybe she was, and maybe that's why she sounded so defensive during the taped walk-through.

Good morning all! Looks like "Raleigh Rick Santorum" has entered the courtroom, so we are now getting started...
(No offense to RS intended--is the DT intending to conjure up hearth and home with the sweater vests, do we think?)
