Weimaraners are stunning dogs. I have zero experience with them, but here's a "could you live with me?" quiz for the breed:

http://www.weimrescue.org/quiz/

They are. Max is about 7 years old, and is quite lovely. But we would def. have to put him in day care during the week so he doesn't freak out alone in BFs house; and bring him to roller derby practice in the evenings and weekends (I am a skater and BF is a referee). Our lives would change a lot. But we'll adjust if needed :)

Has anyone else here taken the MMPI? Just curious because I took it so long ago, my memory is vague now.

Aw, 'this is a stressful time for him'. :( Poor fella.

I think I did once but it was a looooong time ago. I do remember learning about it in psych classes, for sure. IIRC a lot of the questions were kind of repeats, saying things in a slightly different way but you'd encounter the same question overAndoverAndover. I remember thinking it was a tedious and boring test, and if I wasn't crazy before taking it, I might become crazy by the end. ;0

Yes, I remember the repetitive questions, worded just a bit differently each time. I remember taking my time with probably the first half of the test. I wanted to be honest, I wanted to 'get better'. But after awhile I began to wonder how long this would go on, so I flipped ahead to see how many more questions there were. When I saw how many pages and pages were left I thought 'holy crap', and frantically began trying to go faster with the questions, realizing I'd be there for the rest of the week at my current pace. :banghead:

I should have mentioned, I took other, far shorter tests that day, so when I got the MMPI, I just thought it was going to be like the others.

The prosecutor is making an excellent cross. Doctor is agreeing with him in not finding a diagnosis that fits what he did...

Let's put it this way. The SAT and GMAT test questions were a lot more interesting than the MMPI. Oh we did the Rorschach test in our class too. I remember seeing a few butterflies.

So now he's commenting on the defendants composure in court. Detachment. Yes, I recall *detachment*, but once my ability to detach was *broken*, and I came into contact with *feelings*, it was completely overwhelming emotionally.

B&E was thrill based, but he has NO opinion as whether the rape and murder was? YEah right.

David Saacks is one sharp guy! Not much gets past him, IMO.

Exactly. The doctors facial expression says so much IMO. He knows.

:grouphug: darling. I believe JW is of course heavily medicated right now, and also overcome with the knowledge that he really, really, really should have listened to his AA sponsor. Believe me you guys, my sponsors says JUMP, I just ask how high. :what:

I agree, Mz Starbux - I have thought all along that he is well-medicated, especially the first few days -- he was nodding-out -- and very still. I also think he is scared (embarrassed? -- who knoze -- hope so) about what's gonna happen to him, too (what a cryin' shame that is

). And I feel sure that he knows how to detach, and I think the meds would help him maintain that.

I could easily be talked out of this opinion, however...

IIRC, on the first day of the trial, prior to opening statements, Judge G asked JW if he was medicated, can't recall the exact words now, sorry. JW's attorney said something to the effect of 'he took something for a headache today.' All of this was in respect to 'if JW *understood* that his attorney was going to admit he'd committed the crime in his opening statement, and the judge wanted to know if JW understood and agreed with this plan. JW replied, had an exchange with the judge that he was aware & understood the ramifications of his attorney admitting he'd raped and beaten KT. It would be my expectation that if JW was on anything but 'something for a headache' it would have been disclosed at that time, no??

Just the other day, when JG asked JW the drug question before he went through the Harbison thing again, JW said, "Just my prescription medicine," and Conner said almost the same thing at the same time.

I've seen lithium in a friend of ours, years ago, and he was zombied out, too. He could talk & listen, but he was very enervated the whole time we were around him. Just bloblike, altho he seemed aware of things around him to some extent..

Friends don't let friends go to Starbux :floorlaugh:

I agree with what you say -- medication, awareness, guilt. And all could have been prevented had he been willing to listen to someone else.

Just listening to the Dr. speak right now, 'the ability to premeditate', the thought flashed through me that they are going for 'second degree murder'. Now THAT would be a travesty of justice IMO. He'd have the ability to get out someday.

Don't forget the 1st Degree Rape -- that can get you, in the extreme, LWOP, too. And it can also get you a lot of years -- sentencing guidelines do allow LWOP, but he probably wouldn't qualify for LWOP because he hasn't had that many prior offenses. Plus 1st Degree Burglary, which is mild compared to 1st Rape. But if he doesn't get 1st Murder, the judge could still say the sentences will be served consecutively, and that could do it for him, IMO.

Sock it to him, Your Honor!!

As long as he's put away for the next 35+ years, that's good enough.
