Melanie McGuire dismembered her husband in the bathroom of her Woodbridge, NJ apartment. Nobody heard her use her electric saw. She and a friend cleaned the place and there was zero evidence there. Dumped his body in suitcases off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Guilty!

Ugh. In this case, I think they intended to use the $5 duffel bags to transport the body parts, but that didn't work out well for them (seepage). So they bought coolers and returned the duffel bags, which then required the U-haul.

And yes, it would have been smelly, unless they used their freezer in the apt.

But even if it does turn out that their clean up erased blood and DNA evidence, they are still caught being in TX with her body after travelling there. There is no chance that the body got there by other than GH and AH via their road trip. I'm not even sure they need blood evidence in this trial, IYKWIM.

Thank you, Boodles. I really needed to hear your voice of reason this morning. :)

Agreed. Forensic evidence would be nice but will not prevent first degree conviction in this case.

However... gloves and closet door frame have blood on them! So, appears they do have something.

Presence of blood on linen closet door!

I like this witness. Won't touch the evidence until she gets gloves. I'm sure that isn't lost on the jury.

I'm also relieved she is one witness who doesn't need the mike. Articulate and thorough. And no sniffles! Between the last woman officer and this judge I wondered which one's sniffles would win the dueling sniffles contest. Please Judge your mike is on and I am not interested in your nasal situation. :P

Coffee can in boat = chemical indications for presence of blood.

Brown sticky residue in the canister & hose going to the canister of the vacuum.

Do we know what this substance turned out to be? Can anyone fill me in on when a boat came into this crime? TIA

One of the white towels tested positive for blood? Did I understand GH's atty correctly?

And Boz does a nervous coughing thing quite a bit. Becky, too, but to a lesser degree. ;)

I don't believe she said. IIRC, she said she sent it for further testing? (I'm at work, so I'm picking up when I can)

The boat was found at Oyster Creek, TX. The boat GH & AH used to dump Laura's remains.

Did GH reserve the U-haul in advance, or just walk in to rent it?

Did they recover and examine GH's Macbook?

have they confirmed if it was Laura's blood? How does the linen closet door frame come into it....was this linen closet in the bathroom?

The 2nd day of testimony? or the 3rd? They showed GH walking in the Uhaul store. I assume he just walked in. He also bought some boxes, sofa covers, and a hitch from the Uhaul store that day.

I think I have a screen shot of him in the Uhaul store. I'll have to double check.

I believe they stated yesterday they did? Wasn't GH whining to someone in one of those FB messages about "they took everything. my computer, all my songs, everything!" ??

It was sent to the DNA lab for testing. I believe that's the lady that's testifying now that will say yay or nay on whose blood it is.

& I can't hear a stinking thing Becky is saying.

No DNA profile could be found on the white towel :(

Positive for blood on the 4 blue latex gloves. One of them did not have a profile. One of them was mixed with Laura & some other profile. Unable to identify the other profile.

Thank goodness there was DNA from LA on the blue gloves!

  • #279
LA's blood found on the blue gloves that LE found in the garbage.

LA's DNA profile was found on the shift knob and steering wheel of the Durango.

There was other DNA mixed in those samples above, but the lab could not determine whether the contributing DNA came from GH or AH.

So far wherever the SBI was able to get a DNA match (which matched LA) they were unable to determine who else contributed to the mixture and can't say if it was either GH or AH.

another thing they could've done is do the dismemberment in the garage, with tarps covering floor, and then pressure wash entire garage afterwards. Does anyone know if any receipt or video renting pressure washer?
