Lauren Ashley Barfield, 33, was last seen by her family on Tuesday, Aug. 4 and her last known location was in the Hampstead or Surf City area.

Barfield is about five-foot-two weighing 125 pounds with brown hair and hazel/green eyes.

The release was sent an hour-and-a-half after the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a Facebook post from Linda Barfield who said she was the missing woman’s mother.

“Please say a prayer for my daughter Lauren who has been missing,” she posted, noting a missing person report had been filed.

Update (8:15 a.m. Tuesday) — Lauren Barfield was found Monday evening in Hampstead, according to the Pender County Sheriff’s Office.
