Jane Doe 1979 was found on December 8, 1979 in some woods near what is now the intersection of Hooper Road and Mount Misery Road.

“She was found by hunters actually the sons of hunters,” Mary Doncourt said. “The boy who actually found her was only 13.”

Mary Doncourt, a civilian investigative specialist with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, said the coroner believed the woman was about 20 years old at the time.

“He believed she’d been dead for several weeks at the time she was found,” Doncourt said.

Doncourt said they were never able to determine her cause of death, but in 2015, new technology helped detectives draw sketches.
“We found out that Jane actually could have been older,” Doncourt said. “We found these two really amazing forensic anthropologists at NC State, Dr. Ann Ross and Dr. Chelsey Juarez. Dr. Ross does osteological studies. What she found is that Jane was probably between 42 and 55

Doncourt said that also led to new sketches.
Then, Juarez did an isotopic study on the woman’s diet revealing something even more interesting about the woman who still did not have an identity.

“She told us basically Jane was not from North Carolina, had not lived here long enough to have picked up the isotopes, so we don’t know if she had been here a day a week,” Doncourt said.

Where could she have been from?

“There are several states where these isotopes exist and where she may have lived and that includes the mid West, Wisconsin, Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, California,” Doncourt said.

“On her left wrist, was a snoopy watch,” Doncourt said. “That is the only thing that was kind of abnormally to who she was and what was going on.”

What concerns me is her age range is pretty broad. 13- 56 years old and her time of death was only 3 weeks prior to being found. The Snoopy watch makes me think she's on the younger sided. I'm going to look at runaway cases from 1979 in WV, PA, CA, NY, MI, and WI.

Another thing I noticed is she wasn't the only one to be found off Hooper rd. In 2015, an 18 year old that had been missing since 2011 was found on the same road. source: http://www.wect.com/story/30606153/alquon-flowers-body-identified

She fits the visual and circumstantial descriptions of Angela Elaine Allen, but she supposedly went missing 2 weeks after the Jane Doe was found. There may be either a transcription error or a possible conspiracy with her given date of disappearance.

The recon looks like it was done of Angela! Cheek bones and eyes are very similar!

Here's Angela Allen's Charley project profile:
  • Missing Since 12/26/1979
  • Missing From Syracuse, New York
  • Classification Endangered Missing
  • Date of Birth 09/01/1951 (67)
  • Age 28 years old
  • Height and Weight 5'5, 135 pounds
  • Clothing/Jewelry Description A gray coat, a purple dress and red shoes. Carrying a red clutch purse.
  • Distinguishing Characteristics African-American female. Black hair, brown eyes. Allen's ears are pierced.
Details of Disappearance
Angela was last seen in the 3500 block of south Salina Street Syracuse, New York at 2:10 p.m. on December 26, 1979. She spoke to her mother briefly over the telephone that morning, but said she was too sleepy to talk and would call her back later. Angela's mother says her daughter sounded normal during their conversation. She has never been heard from again and authorities don't believe she left of her own accord.

Angela left behind her last paycheck. Her husband, Hubert James "Mad Dog" Allen, attempted to pick it up after her disappearance. He's the prime suspect in her case; authorities believe he killed her on the day of her disappearance and disposed of her body. Possible burial sites include Onondaga Indian Nation territory, or the Allied Chemical salt pits in the northern part of the county. Hubert and Angela used to go on dates to both sites.

In October 1985, Hubert was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend, Lorraine Marshall, and their six-year-old son, James Jose Allen. Marshall was found stabbed to death in her apartment in March 1985; James's strangled corpse was found washed up on the shore of Onondaga Lake several weeks later.

Marshall had been seeing Hubert at the time of Angela's disappearance. She refused to cooperate with authorities about Angela's case until 1982, when she began making statements to investigators. Marshall stated that, in December 1979, Hubert had told her he accidentally killed Angela and asked for her assistance in hiding the body. Then he passed the story off as a joke. Marshall said she noticed that his boots were caked with mud after Allen's disappearance.

Authorities believe Hubert killed Marshall and their son because of her cooperation with the police about Allen's disappearance. He was sentenced to fifty years to life in prison for the murders and will not be eligible for parole until 2035; he will be ninety-two years old by then. He has never been charged in connection Allen's case. Hubert says Allen simply left him without warning one day and he does not know her whereabouts. He also said she took $11,000 in cash from their home when she disappeared, and he did not believe she was dead.

Angela was employed by the department store J.C. Penney at the time of her disappearance. Her mother attempted to have her declared legally dead in 1990, but she was declared legally missing instead. Her estate, including a $10,000 life insurance policy, was distributed to her two daughters.

This UID reminds me a lot of Lisa Lambert. Lisa Monique Lambert – The Charley Project
359686C2-22EB-47F9-AC67-00179AD3196B.jpeg
The age range is all over the place for the UID so it’s hard to go based on that. Lisa is biracial; black and white. She has the right color hair and it appears to be kinky curly. She was last seen in Baltimore Maryland on October 17, 1979, which is about 6 1/2 weeks prior to the discovery of the UID on December 8, 1979. The PMI is listed at about 3 weeks. The only real discrepancy I saw was the height difference. Lisa is listed as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and the UID listed as 5 feet 4 inches. Lisa would have just turned 15 on December 2nd so she’s at the lower end of the age range.

I noticed in one photo of Lisa her eyebrows were pretty full but the other it appears that she has them plucked, they look a lot thinner, more like the UID’s reconstruction... IMOO

That's wisdom teeth still developing. I wouldn't mind betting we are looking at the younger end of the age range, as others have pointed out.

Do you remember around what year you got it? The Snoopy watch could be a clue.

It was a gift from either Canada or England. Maybe around 1978.

I loved the watch so much, that even after the original strap broke, I had it refitted with a metal stretchy band and wore it into my older years. I’m not sure if I still have it, I haven’t seen it in a long time. I might have lost it. I will look. I will also call my relatives to ask them where they got it and when, if they remember.

eta: please remind me to follow up if i don’t post soon - feel free to bug me
