Almost a month ago -- SMH -- doesn't look good, does it?
Could she be with a family member? Perhaps she didn't like her home in M-City, and went to live with a relative? If so, seems like she would have let someone know, or that the people with whom she was living in MC would have called around to see where she might be.
We have a little place in Morehead City -- it's a small friendly town. Highway 70 runs to and beyond MC, so it's not really out in the boonies. Clean little town, lots of vacationers visit MC and other vacation places within 5--10 miles of MC.
MC is also a port location.
None of the beaches in the area are big like Myrtle Beach in SC.

It is near a US Marine Airbase facility (MCAS) in Cherry Point, NC.

About Morehead City:

Morehead City is a port town in Carteret County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 8,661 at the 2010 census. Morehead City celebrated the 150th anniversary of its founding on May 5, 2007. It forms part of the Crystal Coast. Wikipedia

I live near Charlotte, NC and I hadn't even really heard much here, and I'm in the same state!

Forgive this next thought, please, if I am wrong -- I'm beginning to wonder if she is better off away from home. If so, I'm hoping she's happy and safe. SMH.
