Among social media messages investigators are looking at is a Tweet sent from Daniels’ Twitter account on Aug. 13, 2013. Daniels tweeted a screenshot of a text message sent to her by an unidentified friend, via Daniels’ Twitter account.
Part of the text message read, “Be careful with your neighbor you mentioned. I would really encourage you to think about a self defense class and to give serious consideration to other measures to protect yourself.”
I remember reading that one of Maggie's friends dismissed the neighbor in the tweet as a threat since he had moved out long ago. I can't find the article now. Anyway, Aug. 2013 isn't quite a year ago and it's very possible he hadn't moved far. Maybe he worked at the auto repair shop, at Walmart, or on a construction site where he may have noticed Maggie while out walking or running. JMOI feel good that LE has found this tweet. I posted it back on page 2 if I recall correctly (July 4th), well before the media starting reporting on it. I was going to shoot LE an email with the pic attached as soon as I found it, but when I went to the sheriff's website they didn't have email contact info so I was SOL.
In any case, I hope this crime is solved soon. From the looks of it, she was a beam of light and had a lot of folks in her life that loved her. They deserve closure.
Here's an article where it mentions the tenant who "had moved out well before Daniels was killed".I remember reading that one of Maggie's friends dismissed the neighbor in the tweet as a threat since he had moved out long ago. July 10, 2014: Maggie Daniels friend remembers her final day
http://www.wcnc.com/news/crime/Maggie-Daniels-friend-remembers-her-final-day-266651331.html
She said she was aware of a text message Daniels had received from a friend a year ago warning her to be careful of a tenant in Daniels' apartment complex. That friend urged Daniels to take a self-defense class.
The woman said that tenant had moved out well before Daniels was killed.
I recall seeing that several days ago, and thought someone had posted that this particular neighbor had since moved out. Curious now since LE appears interested in this Tweet if this individual returned or was continuing to bother Maggie. It was also be interesting to know if Maggie continued to leave her door unlocked.also from article

Has there been any information released as to how large this mirror that was found by Maggie is? I can't imagine it being a large wall mounted mirror that somehow was removed prior to the murder. What has crossed my mind, however, is the possibility it was a sturdy table-top mirror with a metal base that perhaps could have been used as a weapon. From the wbtv article:
"In addition, a number of bagged-up items that could be evidence were taken to the state SBI lab in Raleigh. One item filled a huge box that could barely fit into the deputy's SUV.
Officials would not say what was in the cardboard box, only that experts will look at it."
The mirror, possibly????
Good question. I recall reading that Maggie was supposed to meet her friend Friday evening but was a no-show and that individual couldn't reach her , which prompted them to go knock on her door (not realizing at the time it was unlocked).Another thought... Friday was June 27th and Saturday was the 28th. If they are saying the death was the 28th, then is it safe to assume the autopsy revealed the time of death to in fact be that Saturday? Meaning... are they certain it did not occur that Friday? Just curious.
It just seems strange for someone that age who was active on SM to not have at least been texting a friend at some point that afternoon.
Apparently, this text message was sent around 11am that Friday:

I am hopeful that LE doesn't need more help from the public at this point. I think they're confident that evidence sent to the crime lab will give them the answers they need. MOOhttp://www.wbtv.com/story/26016747/...-daniels-neighbors-ship-evidence-to-state-lab
Begs the question that the public might be able to help more if more details were released. Of course a few details are always kept secret for purposes of "only the perp would know"....

July 7, 2014: Investigators follow up on leads in slain counselor case

Workers at a repair shop said State Bureau of Investigation agents visited them three times.
They said they worked on Daniels car in the days leading up to her murder.
They said investigators questioned them about a man who wanted to pick up the vehicle the morning she was found dead.
"They wanted to know what it looked like inside,” said Adam Stone, mechanic. “What he looked like. His appearance -- his demeanor and whether he looked flustered. And they wanted to know if he used the phone. They wanted our phone records.”
Dale Ramseur, who described himself as a friend of Daniels, said she was considering moving because of problems she had been having in the complex.
"She'd had some trouble with people ringing the doorbell at one and two o'clock in the morning and was actually looking to move. It is just a shame that didn't happen sooner," Ramseur said.

Quote below is from an earlier article that I don't recall reading so I'll post it here in case others may have missed it also.
I've been wondering about that too Isisrising. Is it just me or is it weird that LE wanted to know if he used the phone? Seems a strange question in this age of cell phones - who uses a mechanic's phone?
And I assume he did use the phone if they then asked for the phone records. All a bit odd IMO.
