Oh whoa! I've never read that either! That has some bearing on the case. Thanks enzeder :seeya:
I wonder how often it happened?. I've had that happen to me and it's really frightening. I can understand Maggie wanting to move.

That wooded area behind Maggie's apartment is a worry also. I watched an earlier video last night and it said that Maggie's back door was found partially open. I'll see if I can find a link to the video.

Channel 9 has also learned police spent hours in these wood behind Daniels' home late Monday.

Eyewitnesses say there were as many as five detectives here looking at a path that cuts between Thorton Elementary and the complex. Channel 9 walked it Tuesday and discovered it comes out feet from the back door to Daniel's apartment.

July 15, 2014: Police seek more information in slaying of Maggie Daniels

NEWTON, N.C. — Newton police are desperate to talk to key people who they think could help them solve the murder of a popular high school counselor.

Police Chief Donald Brown said police and the State Bureau of Investigation officials have made some progress.

They've conducted interviews with more than 100 people and have been able to eliminate several people as persons of interest.

They're hopeful the process will lead them closer to a suspect. He said they're also paying closer attention to Daniels' social media accounts.

Is it just me or is it weird that LE wanted to know if he used the phone? Seems a strange question in this age of cell phones - who uses a mechanic's phone?

And I assume he did use the phone if they then asked for the phone records. All a bit odd IMO.

Just thinking - Maybe forgot his cellphone... maybe didn't want call to show up on his own phone....

After seeing the great job you did posting photos of area - cannot imagine her leaving her door unlocked like she, and that so many (even the janitor) knew she did. Sounds like she allowed students to enter when she was not home, otherwise couldn't they simply ring the bell? A bad practice IMO.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. It says "The morning after the surveillance photo was taken, the body of the teacher and guidance counselor from Discovery High was found sprawled on the floor of her apartment in Newton."

I am curious since the ME is sure Sat was the day of death what she did from the time she sent the text on Friday at noon (and/or liked the picture on IG-what time did that happen?) until her death on Saturday. There is a big time gap in there. I mean it's not a big gap like the McStay Family or the Heather Elvis case where days/weeks passed but in Maggie's case those few hours are literally the key to this mystery.

The unknown man at the car repair shop IMO is a big key to this, at least until it is explained who he was and what he was doing.

I am hopeful that LE doesn't need more help from the public at this point. I think they're confident that evidence sent to the crime lab will give them the answers they need. MOO

Got to hope, but for discussion, I always believe the more the public knows the better in these cases, especially while it's fresh in people's minds. Can't hurt, and seen times when things sent to a lab don't pan out, and then LE asks public.

I did not know that it was fact that ME reports she passed on Sat. Do we know this to be true? Seems Friday makes more sense since she blew off her friend for dinner, someone she commonly referred to as mom per reports.

Right, I was thinking he didn't want his number to appear on Maggie's phone, maybe she wasn't taking his calls and he wanted to get her to answer by using a different number.

Same view as pic at link you quoted but you can see Maggie's back door with the yellow tape on it in the last of the images.

Attached images are screen shots from video at below link.
