I've checked the court calendars and had no results at all. I know that his attorney was trying to have the trial moved to another county. There was supposed to be a hearing on that but I've found nothing on it. I wonder if he will be serving the time for the larceny and tampering with a witness first before there being a court date set for the rape and murder.

Getting to trial for a death penalty case does take forever and unfortunately this Sheriff does not believe in sharing anything.

All I know is his last hearing was supposed to be on March 17, 2023 - and then we lost him...

I don't know, I was just googling around trying to find any sort of update. Such a shame that Paitin isn't getting more attention from the media. Hoping the prosecutors are at least keeping justice in sight.

Friday, November 17th:
*Hearing (@ am session ET) - NC - Paitin Renee Fields (5) (Found the morning of Nov. 13, 2017, unresponsive in her own bedroom by her 19 yr. old uncle; she had been strangled & raped & died at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center on Nov. 16, 2017; she lived with her maternal grandmother) - *David Wesley Prevatte (19 @ time of crime/23/now 25) uncle arrested (2/16/22) & charged (2/16/22) with 1st degree murder, 1st degree statutory rape & 1st degree statutory sex offense with child by adult in the case. Prevatte was taken into custody by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana & is awaiting extradition. Was extradited 2/15/22 to NC. Held without bond. State will seek the DP.
