rsbm:

Hm. If the car was parked near the trees, maybe it was so he could get back to his own car without being noticed?

This is what I think very likely could have happened for exactly that reason, jmo.

So, going back to up your map you just posted to trace that treeline in both directions. He must have had his "getaway car" (as Gigtu so aptly referred iirc) fairly nearby. I'll guess a mile or two? This is why I was wondering about the railroad tracks earlier...

Everything is jmo, brainstorming and pure speculation on my part with one greater good in mind, to help Find Sara Graham asap if she is being held by some sicko(s) against her will.

Here, I think: https://goo.gl/maps/OACjb

Judging from where the police mobile van and other vehicles are parked, I'm guessing the "line of trees" is the one right next to the street.

:bump:

So, if he had a vehicle, a mile or 2 out (or more or less lol), where would he have parked it, somewhere where it would not stand out, like a store parking lot? Zooming out to trace the treeline to see where he possibly might have walked to.

Wait a minute...so someone called in a car and said "with its door locked"? Is this just odd wording?

So, if you're driving and by the road or in the distance near or far you see a suspicious car, are you going to go up to and check on it and try the doors? (Unlikely imo, but I suppose a citizen could be so conscientious they checked the car to see if anyone was in there? OR, was it a property owner who checked the car? Landscape, etc worker?)

What I'm saying how did they know the doors were locked...they had to have touched the vehicle before they called it in. If I'm understanding the wording of this sentence correctly. Going back to read article again.

Eta: Yep, reread it. That is weeeeiiiirddd imo.
If this article is even correct....or if I'm interpreting the sentence correctly....

So maybe someone who knows what happened to Sara called it in so it would be found? Anonymous tipster?

I don't think it's weird. I might have looked. That's exactly why I think they were locked, to buy more time.

You are brave! I'd be too chicken to look/go up to a strange car, especially in a field lol. Abandoned cars on the side of the road always creep me out. I do call them in though incase the person/vehicle is missing/injured :). Jmo

Pardon me for interrupting your thinking but he may have been able to walk through the trees - just another thought.

That's been the problem with this for me. All the things you would do for a personal abduction are the same things that person would do if they were just leaving, and leaving everything behind. Like I'm mad and I'm getting the hell out of here. Still you would take the things that would make it look like you were leaving for work.

Jumping off your post, was Sara taking any medication? If so, was that left behind?

Jumping off your post...

If a perp abandoned it there, I don't think he would want to walk out and be visibly abandoning the vehicle in case someone drove by, BUT, if sheeeeee abandoned it there, maybe she would walk out thinking someone might not take notice (not necessarily argh), But if she did this, she would have to have help, or another vehicle...?

You're not interrupting my thinking, we are all here to discuss/brainstorm...we have nothing else, no new msm, no new leads given by LE, nothing.

In AH's case, the guilt just about killed me, that I didn't try harder to find her...so much time was spent speculating about a voluntary disappearance (not me, I had a bad bad feeling from the start, like this one, jmo)...I made a deal with myself that if I ever think someone could be being held alive again, I would trust my instinct and go after it. AH spent 9 months iirc undergoing unspeakable things.

Briefly scanning southish for starters (that's a lot of trees....) it appears some intersections include Roberta Rd, New Hope Pleasant (or something like that, accidentally closed the map window)...

I'm in this camp. I also think her vest will suddenly be found.

I would be even more worried then (if that's even possible)...that would scream Morgan Harrington (tshirt) and Jessica Ridgeway (backpack) imo.

In fact, they explicitly reported that the vehicle was in perfect running order. And about not reporting the color, maybe they figured that since it was found - launching the search, they didn't need to describe it. Just a guess.

I would like to look at this specific wording again...looking for link/exact wording upstream, will post it if I find it.

True, but on the other hand, if they say they're looking for a white 2006 (or whatever) Astro van, then some people will remember that they saw it whether they did or not. Suggestion leading to false memories. If they feel like they got good coverage from canvassing the area and talking to cars at the reported roadblock, they might decide that the risks and wasted time of false leads is greater than the chance of finding information they missed.

This is interesting. I've seen stuff like this, as well as the opposite, which imo is a better approach...they can "prioritze leads" as often done, if they want to...In Jessica's case, they begged for leads, kept reminding the public that anything could be important, no matter how insignificant it could seem...

So, brainstorming about a possible perp, in Jessica's case there are some the things they told the public to be on the look out for re: the perp:

"May have missed work recently....may have recently changed appearance..."

There has been no appeal from LE re: a possible danger to the community. Often this is telling. Maybe they do have evidence she left voluntarily...if so, that would be so wonderful!!!!!!

Eta: Sara does not appear to be very tiny in the pictures. If she was abducted, I'm going to guess there's a good chance she got some scratches/bites in, if she even had a chance to fight back and was not incapacitated too soon...?

(O/T, man we are getting PUMMELED here; what is weather right now in Robeson County, and if so, how will this impact searches / possible evidence that has not been found yet...water/snowmelt does terrible damage, but colder weather on the flip side can also help preserve evidence as well... In Jessica's case, every time it rained/snowed I was like "Noooo...if there's evidence out there it is getting ruuuinned..!" Jmo)

(Eta: It is always interesting to me how weather impacts discoveries...sometimes rain/snowmelt make the water/rivers flow, and people are found....Amy Ahonen after the floods (partial remains found scattered over 2 counties), Adrienne Salinas after the floods ("found in a wash")...

I learned in Dylan Redwine's thread that many bodies are found in the Spring, iirc...

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?zoneid=NCZ087#.VOlddIrn_MI (eta: 51 degrees, fair, humidity 92%, chance of showers in the days to come)

Hopefully they already got tire tracks if there were any. This is most certainly the first thing they would look for/attempt to preserve.

I hate stereotypes, and I will eat crow if I'm wrong, but Sara does not strike me as the type that would run off; plan this ish; or disappear on purpose. Just my opinion.

Which ones might be open and on the way to/near the Walmart where she worked?

Walmarts usually have a Subway or McDonald's in them, don't they?
