Isn't it Sara's Dad's van, not Sara's, and haven't they already released it back to him already? So its not impounded for evidence collection, right?

When she said "it" I assumed she was referring back to the van. Last I heard the van was still with the county.

ETA: I use the pronoun "she" because I assume an assistant probably typed this message for the sheriff.

The time to process a vehicle is extremely lengthy and requires specialists to dust for prints, check fibers, etc. They are held anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months to process. So Im curious as to why it got returned to her Dad rather quickly.

Maybe LE has a different process there than what Ive been exposed to.

The one-month anniversary of Sara's disappearance and the above is what I get from the Sheriff's office In response to my inquiry. As if I were ever worried that the van was missing.

ETA: This lady is probably just trying to tell me that Sara didn't leave in the van. It's amazing how things can look based on semantics.

I don't think it is true that few searches have been done. They're not getting much press, but the sheriff has said the entire six mkles from house to van was searched, as well as the route to the interstate.

I think it's UNC-Pembroke, not the big UNC (Chapel Hill), yes? But that is interesting. I'm sure she interacted with a lot of college students, I wonder if her coworkers knew of any customers being close to her there.

The only detailed information in MSM, IIRC, was that her step-mom was the last to have seen her prior to leaving for work. Had the impression that Sara drove away in a different than she, but I couldn't find any information to confirm that impression on MSM.

It's not really known what route Sarah took. She may have taken the same route her parents take. But that route would not take you past that field at the intersection of McDonald Road and Chicken Road. And her parents did not report seeing the van there.

The van was reported as suspicious between 10:30 and noon on 4 February.

The reason I asked is because the UNC campus is close to the Walmart where Sara worked about 1.5 miles away. College students tend to patronize Walmart; she may have met some. The campus is fairly large, I believe I read a population of about 8000. In fact, it would have been a natural for Sara to be enrolled there. There is a large Lumbee population (or Native American) and that may have attracted her. She had just graduated high school in May.

In one way or another the campus may have affected her life; it could even play a role in her disappearance. This is mostly my own opinion but I have heard some things about Sara and college. I believe I heard her dad say Sara was going to college and I thought he meant next year. So it didn't occur to me that she could have been enrolled there last fall and this spring.

LUMBERTON - The search continues for the 18-year-old daughter of a Robeson County deputy who has been missing since Wednesday.

Sara Nicole Graham left home about 6:30 a.m. for work at a Walmart store in Pembroke, Sheriff Kenneth Sealey said.

Graham was living with her father, Hubert Graham, and her stepmother, Connie Graham, who is a juvenile detective in the Sheriff's Office, Sealey said.

The Grahams left home for work at the same time, he said.

About noon, Sealey said, a caller reported a suspicious vehicle in a field off McDonald Road. The Chevrolet van was parked several feet off the road and the doors were locked, he said.

A license check showed the van was registered to Hubert Graham.

"We notified him, and he said his daughter had the vehicle," Sealey said.

Detectives learned Sara Graham had not shown up for work, Sealey said.

Searches of the girl's computer and phone records have not turned up any leads, Sealey said. Graham's phone has been turned off and hasn't been found, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Robeson County Sheriff's Office at 910-671-3100.

But what IF they left the "house" at the same time, the parents drove off, and Sara was forced back into her home? Her purse and other personal belongings would have never even made it into the van.

Her car may have been placed there at around 10 am, about 4 hours after she may have been abducted. If the car wasn't noticed before, it doesn't mean it wasn't there before, as the shade in the area it was parked may have lifted around that time, but a white van doesn't exactly blend in unless it was parked below an easy sight line and just right. If White Astro Van was parked there around 10 am, then would it mean whomever parked it there was moving around in the van hours after it may have been noticed that she was missing? As the van description hasn't been emphasized, I think the case may be that the van had been parked there closer to 6:30 am and noticed later.

If it was one person, they may have had to walk back to where they left Sara after the abduction, in another car or confined place, or there may have had to have been two people involved with one driving the other car, it seems to me. If there was a car pre-parked somewhere, as there are no signs around the van, where could it have been parked?

I hope however this happened and whomever knows more about Sara's whereabouts may be moved to help get her home. She has family, friends, and so many people concerned with her safe return.

It is like they had to back track and the phone's ping, is not in the direction of her work. That is also where they searched for her, where the phone last pinged. If feels like someone wanted to really mislead them as to where to search. Could the phone have been used to get that ping recorded if you will, and then shut off? Perhaps the phone was even tossed out in that direction.

Not familiar with her case, where was she located and do you know how long it took to find her? Just curious. This case is odd to say the least. There is nothing out there, just fields and farms around her home. I bet that was one lonely ride to work early in the morning.

Those points of reference and the way you see them makes sense to me. Combine that with the location of the Walmart, somewhat apart, a Super Store version. If this person went through some effort to pin location information, like the van placement, the last ping there, could they be trying to get LE's attention away from the Walmart area. That's where she was most exposed. That Walmart Super Store would expose her to people who would find it closer than other Walmarts maybe. If that's where this person may have run into Sara, they may have staged it in such a way to not pull attention in their direction, closer to the Walmart. That is if the van placement near 95 was not done for practical reasons of getting as far as possible as fast as possible, or was it staged to look that way?
