I don't understand how NO ONE did anything to help this little angel...NO ONE. Everyone's adding their two cents NOW but what about when she needed them the most? I truly believe everyone involved knew this baby should NOT have been where she was but probably never thought this would've been the end result. It was said, if you wanted sex and/or drugs...you could go there. I fault EVERY last one of them...father, aunt, friend, cousin, father-in-law, brother, sister, boyfriend, neighbor, teacher, principal, counselor, social worker..anyone who saw the red flags. We each have a responsibility...it truly takes a village. We need to stop focusing on me and starting thinking about we. I haven't been able to sleep since I saw the picture of our angel in the hotel...how are THEY able to sleep?

It can be difficult to interfere with parental rights... what is sad is that DFACS were involved with this freak of a so-called mother and not anything was done.... that's what is sad. So someone did make a call to them to investigate.. and from what has been reported, nothing!! That infuriates me.

As far as BL's friends stepping in... there is not a whole lot that they can do because he was the legal parent and it was his "unfortunate" decision to send little Shaniya to her biological mother. I'm wondering if they were the ones who called DFACS to investigate AD... who knows... such as shame that the followup yielded nothing to warrant having all of her children taken away (including little Shaniya).

I have a question - not sure if it is off topic or more properly ON topic.

If momster handed Shaniya over to McNeill then how can they charge him with kidnapping? How do you kidnap child that was willingly handed to you by the bio mother? Not that I think this scum should by any means get off for whatever part he played in WHATEVER wrongs were done Shaniya, but is that really the right charge for this situation? Can't they come up with better, more suitable charges like oh, I dunno, murder?

This is most likely exactly why he admitted to "taking" her but will plead NOT guilty for kidnapping according to his atty.

What kind of drugs would she be on where they would cost high dollars and she would still remain looking fairly healthy albeit sleepy looking?

Not really sure if i should be posting this here or not.......moves so fast .........but seems AD used to babysit for BL after his wife died.........so that is where that connection comes in.

Brad was also 28 at the time, his wife was murdered and he had four kids to raise by himself without a mother for them. I want you all to understand this, he saw how much his children missed having a mother and when Shaniya was born he hoped her mother would rise to the occasion and try to be a mother to Shaniya. He did that for Shaniya. The mother was not someone he picked up in a bar, she was a former babysitter of his kids. They had a very, very brief encounter and Shaniya was made. Brad loved Shaniya and always was protective of her, but he wanted her to also feel she had a mother, unlike his older children. Please, stop your judgements till you've walked in someones shoes.

We do not know this to be fact as someone is posting in a blog.

I guess those of us who have been in very similiar situations as children could answer that question,,but I will say this,,,I don't believe the Dad (BL) will ever own up to the real reason he sent her over there to the depths of hell,,,but I bet his sister knows, and that is what we are seeing in the presser when she doesn't hug him or hold his hand...or show what some are saying sympathy for him.

With all the back and forth of how much BL (and others) are responsible in some way due to their silence or in BL's case letting Shaniya go to AD's, I want to post this link again. I know you guys are probably tired of seeing me post this but if one additional person decides to read it b/c I posted it a third time, then it's worthwhile:

It is the best book about how following your instinct - your natural 6th-sense - your intuition, which he calls the Gift of Fear (he wrote another book by that name). In this book he mentions asking all the questions we feel stupid asking friends' parents sometimes (i.e., who else will be at your house when my child is there? will they be allowed to leave unsupervised? etc, etc).

Read it! Give it as a gift this holiday season! I will try not to post it again...

All I could think looking at her at the hearing is "Crap, she looks like me when I went into rehab". The handwringing, eye shifting, lip licking, yet no major weight loss or lack of connection with reality.
I don't know. I just know that I was addicted to Ecstasy and she looks a lot like I did at my intake for rehab.
(Do not listen to the studies that say you can't get addicted to X. They are full of carp.)

My guess- crack cocaine. The high is extremely short-lived. Takes lots of $$$ to support a crack habit. jmo

I want to know this too! If she was withdrawn someone signed the paperwork to withdraw her! Who, when, and why?

If she just didn't show up I don't think the school would use the word withdraw.. the school needs to barf up some answers.. unless they made a booboo and are cya right now (ie, shaniya simply quit coming to school and they didn't follow up on it??? just a thought)

But if Shaniya just quit coming to school, wouldn't the school have called Aunt Carey and asked what was wrong as she was the listed guardian?

Man! I wish I had the link to the video where the spokeswoman for the school was shown talking to the reporter!

Something still not adding up here, IMO.

I have walked in Shanynia's shoes in some areas that have been reported. I was one of the lucky ones to survive. No thanks to parents but my GrandMother. Bless her soul..

But I thought Lockharts sister was taking care of her, why would Tim Allen be asking to take care of her? Day Care? She was in school at least 1/2 a day.
