When I did the transcription yesterday, I included that little slip at the end. I think the blanket is connected and was the only thing that worried her at the time, that would get her caught.

Ditto!

One other thing that bothers me in that call is that she doesn't quite remember her underwear...but then describes them with flowers on them.

On my screen on what appears to be that diaper, it appears to have some kind of light designs. It's faint though. Was wondering if anyone else notices that.

No scent of the Shaniya found at mobile home or around area.

Coe:"Every day I was there the little girl was never in the living room," Coe said. "Every night when I slept there the little girl was never in the living room, so all I can say is educated people figure it out."

She never says flowers, just pink designs.

A close friend of Brad's, and his ex-father-in-law both say they offered to take in Shaniya rather than let her live with her mother, because they say when the child was in the custody of her mother, bad things happened to her.

"My wife says she saw cigarette burns on Shaniya's arms," said Brad's friend Tim Allen, who says he is very angry over what happened.

Byron Coleman, Brad's ex-father-in-law, said Shaniya "had burns on her legs, arms and things" after visits with her mother.

"She had a cigarette burn on the corner of her eye, which she claimed her grandma did when she went over there," added Shaniya's half sister Cheyenne Lockhart.

The three all claimed that the 5-year-old suffered physical abuse while in the custody of her mother.

Did anyone report it to authorities? :furious:

Should I go dig up the transcription, since we are on the 911 call again?

Well, I wonder when the last independent, credible sighting of Shaniya was? Perhaps she wasn't even living there for the last few days of her life!
She was dropped off with AD Oct. 9th. She was "withdrawn" from school mid Oct.-so after about a week with AD! Was that because signs of abuse were too noticeable to send her to school? I don't think her murder was an accident of her abuse. I think her murder was intentional-she had become a liability. A risk to the people who were abusing her!
I think there is much more reason for the delay in charges than not knowing where the murder occured! This case is going to get even uglier as details of the investigation are revealed! IMO

Is the blanket blue?

That's right... pink designs....thank you. I could not listen to the tape again because I'm working.
Does anyone notice designs in what appears to be a diaper on the surveillance tape? It appears to be faint on my screen.

Here's another take: Maybe he was referring to her "not being in the living room" b/c she was in the bedroom. Maybe he's the one that suggested or suspected something was up with Antoinette pimping her daughter out. If that's the case, his HIV drugs should stop immediately (since they're paid for by the State of NC unless he has insurance now) and he should be incarcerated. I sort of think he's not involved...but even if he suspected, something should have been done about it. Prostituting a child is the lowest of all lows. Most druggies wouldn't even think of such a thing. It takes a special kind of criminal whackjob to abuse a child like that.

Exactly, first it's taken out, then in the next second it's withdrawn. NEVER officially withdrawn. Maybe the school dropped the ball too.

Good point. But wouldn't the school have called the aunt to verify if Shaniya was withdrawing/quit coming to school.

I hate to be mean, but I think some of you are living in another world and lucky for you. I grew up in the "ghetto" and in our apt building there were only two families who WEREN'T selling drugs or engaged in some illegal activity and they ALL HAD CHILDREN.

Now, I am not saying that this is the norm, but it seemed normal to me at the time. So normal that there were only a few kids I could play with because after going over to their houses and telling my mother what I saw I wasn't allowed to go back over.

Creature could have changed all the arrangements with the school. Not to mention if she called and said she wasn't going to be sending Shaniya there anymore, what reason would they have to call.

It might have been turning a blind eye. It might also have been wanting to believe Shaniya's mother really had made a turn for the better. Some might say it was only 2 1/2 months. You wouldn't believe how quickly a person wanting to better themselves can. I don't know though.. my head is torn here. Is it possible Brad himself had once been down that road? Made life better for himself? Who knows.. I'm sure as the days go by we will find out more and more about the true underlying issues of all the family members of Shaniya.

I can see and understand both sides of this issue. What I'd like to know is why his other children are in the custody of his ex-in-laws. Unfortunately, none of it will bring Shaniya back. All we can hope is that we all take something from this and learn not to make those same mistakes.

1) at the time the household was raided for drugs (it was NOT the trailer they currently reside in - it was a previous residence) Shaniya was not present. She was sent there on a VISIT. Custody was not turned over to mom, dad did not agree to let her reside there it was a VISIT. So authorities may not even have known of Shaniya's existence as a minor child of momster at the time of the drug raid, why would they? DCF would have no reason to check on the welfare of little Shaniya as she did not live there.

2) The custody arrangement was apparently NOT one worked out by the court but was more likely a matter of SUPERMOM handing over her infant because she had no use for her and bio dad taking her and raising her with occassional visits to momster a/k/a supermom. Because the custody arrangement was outside of the system the system would then have no reason to notify bio dad of momster's behavior, the drug raid, the concerns for children in the household etc.

IMOO Dad had no idea of the sort of lifestyle mom was living, his only error was probably taking mom at her word. if he lived 3 states away and had only whatever conversations he had with momster to go on, what normal person suspects this kind of depravity can exist in a biological mother???

Kinda like saying the "only error" European elites did was forget to read Hitler's Mein Kampf, or saying the "only error" the NASA mgrs made in launching Challenger was ignore the temp, ice on launch pad, engineering data, and internal warnings indicating flight safety problems. Or how about FEMA, their "only error" was failing to deploy resources... isn't history literally littered, or more closely correlated, aren't social worker's case files filled w casualties of child abuse whose cases were never properly investigated? :waitasec:

Sins of omission can have as detrimental or lethal consequences as sins of commission.

If dad in fact lived so far away and had only this crackhead's word to go by, all the more reason to be skeptical, wary and not take her word! Her word it turns out wasn't worth a dime bag. I read a report where dad claimed she had "shown" him she'd cleaned up her act. No she didn't... she TOLD dad... omg HUGE DIFFERENCE. Anyone can say anything SHOW me don't TELL me. All *I* wanna know is what "normal" person never seeks to find out for themselves whether there's any truth or validity to the claims, or think twice before allowing a helpless child to go even for one day much less unsupervised visits for weeks at a stretch gmab. They would have been better off leaving Shaniya ALONE. BY HERSELF. FOR WEEKS. ANYWHERE, but that God forsaken dump w this "bio mom."

DA^^N!! What if? Maybe this McNeil character had her for days and wouldn't bring her back... possible but why would AD cover for him?

IMO, I think she started to say "big" blue shirt.

But it's not bashing to post facts. He never should've let Shaniya go imo.

I am posting sometimes from an emotional point of view..Those of you who have read my post will know this....I have really been placed, in my minds eye, where Shanyia's footsteps have been, and I have posted when maybe I should have logged off....I can't help myself and will continue to follow this case. I will try to be more calm when posting, but unless I get banned I guess I can't promise anything...
