This is the first time I have heard the amount AD traded her daughter's life for. $200!!!!! Are you fricken kidding me???? $200??????

Oh, and it's the first I've heard about AD admitting what she did.

I am thankful they are not seeking the DP for AD. As much as I would love to see her die for her crimes, I do not think a jury would convict with the DP on the table for AD because she didn't "physically" kill Shaniya herself. Her defense will say she did not know MAM was going to kill her. So, I do not think AD would ever receive the DP. Life in prison will work for me for AD. Even though I feel she deserves death.

As far as MAM goes, I'd love to be the one injecting poison in his body.

Oh, and I found it very interesting that the article says AD was not willing to have sex with MAM to pay off the debt so she offered up Shaniya.

I have a feeling, we are going to learn a lot of info that will shock us to the core during the trials.

Does anyone think that the DA's office would accept a plea of LWOP from McNeill if his he & lawyer offered? And a part of that sentence would be to testify against AD?

The ONLY good thing about MM getting LWOP is that he would be placed in general population, and not be put in a separate area of the prison and in his cell, all safe & cozy, for 23 hours/day. A little (or a lot) of jailhouse justice might be good for him, and the public wouldn't have to wait for 20 or so years for him to get it....

I can't wait until these MF'ers get what's coming to them. I'm so sorry to be so blunt and crude, but this rape and murder of this child slammed me to my core. My granddaughter is almost the exact same age and almost the exact same name. And of course, this was so close to my home. I had relatives in other states contacting me when they heard Shaniya was missing, thinking it might be my granddaughter. So I feel very strongly about the getting the death penalty and going to that special place in hell that awaits him.

Those who have followed this case closely have fallen in love with sweet little Shaniya.

Not looking forward to all the details. But I will follow the trials.

Some of these little ones you can hope they were unconscious and weren't aware of the terror and the pain, but Shaniya, at the elevator, was wide awake, and had been trapped in that hotel room with him for more than an hour. She was conscious and aware, and had to put her sweet little hand to steady herself on the shoulder of the man who had just raped her, and was taking her to kill her.

The pain, the terror, the confusion, the feeling of abandonment and betrayal by her mother - it's all represented for me in that little hand - how very defenseless and betrayal children are, and how evil and vicious some people are to them.

Breaking News: Cumberland County prosecutors said Wednesday that they will seek the death penalty against Mario McNeill, who is charged with kidnapping, sexually assaulting and killing 5-year-old Shaniya Davis in November 2009.

I did figure that this is a DP.
What I would like to see is that the SOB is not living a long life on the tax dollar.
People on death row do have many years in there before they are given the last meal.
I cannot imagine that anyone wants to pay for his three square meals a day and shelter.

At the bottom of that article, it seems to insinuate that maybe someone else gave Shanaiya to the perp. someone else who was living at the house. :waitasec:

If there is any merit in this claim then, why was not another person arrested as well?
Who would it be? her boyfriend? her sister?

That implication is being put forth by AD's defense attorney. I would expect nothing less from her attorney.

The article states AD admitted she handed Shaniya to MAM.

So IMO there is no merit to the claim at all.

I am kind of.. well... let's just say I have very strong feelings about this- so I probably can't contribute in any sort of non-biased way- but I feel that the idea here is that Shaniya was sexually abused by more persons than MAM- and if that's the case, then accurate identification of any other individuals involved is really important.

Coe was arrested due to AD's lies. Remember the whole dramatic story AD told police about Coe hitting Shaniya and then leaving with her?
AD lied A LOT during the initial interviews. She was trying to cover her sorry arse.

If more people raped Shaniya they most certainly need to be found and charged.

But, when it comes to that night, I think LE knows exactly what happened.

I think the defense attorney, despite AD admitting she gave Shaniya to MAM to cover a drug debt, is just trying to throw out doubt.
