OMG his profile picture is a mug shot. At the bottom it says courtesy of the Fayetteville Police Department. That's crazy IMO.

<WHO IS LOOKING OUT FOR JUSTICE?>

Well, we all are.
And that is a lot different then having a parent checking up with attorneys to make sure somebody pays the piper for Shanyas demise.
I am a believer that we cant get an attorney to make sure this baby gets justice. But a parent can.
I know we here are.

<modsnip>

Because we are supposed to comment on the post, not the poster I am going to attempt just that.

I believe we can have/post vast differences of opinion about a case and still be here for the right reason - There have been no posts here, backing anyone involved in the disappearance of Shaniya and all the posts are in the best interest of seeing JUSTICE FOR THIS ANGEL!

We have all wept over the crimes committed against Shaniya - all of us with our own points of view where guilt lies does not change that one little bit - it is still about Shaniya.

I can only ask, but please don't turn this thread into who's post is more right or who's feelings are the correct to have! They are all correct - this is about Shaniya and even if every post on this thread is looking or pointing in a different direction or angle, they are not wrong! They are about Shaniya!

Those of you still working on this / coming to this thread everyday are here for Shaniya and I respect and care about you for that. Please don't write posts aimed at shutting others and their thoughts and feelings out - keep this about Shaniya. Because no matter how or what we think about the way this case is being handled - the only one that matters is Shaniya. Keeping her name and face out there, to keep her memory alive! So the next perp who comes along is forewarned - we are not going to go away and we are not going to let you get away with this! We all want the same thing!

Thank you, LCoastMom.
This case is so painful for so many of us.

BBM- I hope the playground falls into keeping Shaniya's memory alive. I have been thinking of starting a new thread about it, I think I'll ask a mod.

Shaniya, wherever you are tonight- I hope you hear and feel how deep our love and compassion is for you.

BBM I'm sorry that is the opposite of what I was aiming for (I guess I've been a mom for too long ;)

<<The tension on the thread is palpable! I actually thought about asking a mod for help but I was hoping I could get my message across without having to holler for "MO(M)D!" LOL

I truly was hoping I was saying something helpful without pointing a finger at anyone because I don't think of this as a blame thing - it is the same thing we find on every big case when the case hits that stall point and a mod comes in and asks us to back off or find something to do! (More eloquently I know!) Beanie about lost all her hair (because of me) on the Missing "Cat" Shantina Smiley Thread this spring.

Your doing a "Fact" find on this case is incredible. Kudos to you for being able to go through those hideous threads again - this crime was one of the worst we've ever had IMO. It would certainly be a big help, maybe they would be willing to make a sticky for the final product.

Please accept my apology for crossing the line - I really just want everyone to know their opinion is valued and there is room for everyone here!
>>

IMO, you crossed no line. :blowkiss:

I value all of you, and all who love and care for Shaniya- and for justice for Shaniya.

I emailed a mod- just to see how we can better make this more productive. I think a sticky would be awesome.:)

Hope that helps.

A few pages back we were wondering about the new baby born to this woman.
Did we hear anything?

Passion, a few days ago I found Clarence Coe's Facebook page. He had a post regarding the baby being due July 12th or something and that it was going to be a girl. He never posted about the baby after that.
So, I'm assuming, she had a baby girl sometime mid-July. I don't know where the baby is or who has her. I pray she's safe.

ETA: The link is upthread.

Cumberland DA wants deeper probe of DSS in girl's death

http://www.wral.com/news/state/story/8333219/

<snipped>

Grannis and Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine requested the SBI investigation last December after questions were raised about the county’s contact with the family of Shaniya Davis before her disappearance. The SBI turned its findings over to Grannis last Friday.

DA asks for continued probe of Cumberland County Social Services

http://www.fayobserver.com/articles/2010/09/22/1033357?sac=Home

<snipped>

Following the arrests, Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine shared concerns with Grannis that his homicide detectives may not have received full cooperation from the DSS in hunting down those responsible for Shaniya's death.

Grannis responded by asking the SBI to determine if the DSS had turned over complete and accurate records of social worker contacts with the girl's family.

County officials have acknowledged the SBI may have looked into allegations that DSS records concerning the Davis family were altered or destroyed.

Grannis told Butler this week that the SBI has been unable to resolve some questions he posed about the DSS, despite repeated attempts. "He just wants some questions answered," Tanna said of Grannis.

Thanks for posting this... So many other cases have come and gone since that time and I personally have been able to put this awful crime out of my mind. I had to take a break from WS after Shaniya.

Revisiting this thread brings it all back and the tears start to flow.

My heart aches for this child like no other case. I'm so glad I had my fellow WS'ers to get through that painful time - of wondering if she was out of the country, of hoping she's still alive after the video footage, of following every moment during the search afterwards, and then finally the tragic news... Dear sweet child, you never deserved what happened to you...

Hey everyone, I need your help.

While awaiting the trial of the people who hurt Shaniya, I thought it would be a good idea to try and establish a playground in her honor. If you'd like to see a playground established in Shaniya's memory, please write/email/call:

Lee County Economic Development Corp.
P.O. Box 1968
226 Carthage Street
Sanford, NC 27331-1968
Phone: 919.774.8439
Fax: 919.775.5410
E-mail: [email protected]

and ask for this specifically:
"For the council to permit the construction of a playground in honor and memory of Shaniya Davis."

This thread is about Shaniya; and children everywhere, who deserve the right to a childhood that is free from pain.
A childhood where a safe, fun, and beautiful playground is all a child remembers.

Thanks for any assistance here.
Oriah

Wanted to add- the more letters the council receives, the better the odds to get a playground in Shaniya's name designated.

So please write...and if you feel like writing a couple different letters, that would be great too!
