Does anyone else have the Haleigh Cummings case running through their mind right now?

I have long thought it was a possibilty that someone took Haleigh from that trailer, and handed her off for cash and/or drugs for the same reason that Shaniya was allegedly sold.

If most women in prostitution don't really want to be there, how on earth will arresting them help? I think these cases are much more common than we think.
There was one very very recently where the mom had her 6 or 7 year old on craigslist.
Someone saw the ad, sent to the local police.
They thought it would turn out to be some sicko posting fake ads to get their jollies.
Contacted the woman as an interested party and she showed up at the motel, daughter in tow, outfits for the client to choose from.
Young girl did not act like she hadn't been through the routine before.
It was horrifying.

Domestic Sex Trafficking in the U.S.

A 15-year-old Orange County girl who ran away from home after an argument with her mother in 2007 was kidnapped and held captive in an underground world of drugs and forced prostitution.


Now, more than two years after the teen's harrowing, three-week ordeal, an Orange County husband and wife are charged in a child trafficking case, one that highlights a growing state problem, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.


Aleisea N. Smith, 22, and Timothy L. Smith, 39, are accused of kidnapping the teen at gunpoint and demanding she turn tricks for them. They remain at the Orange County Jail without bail.


The case came to light this week after Aleisea Smith's Aug. 7 arrest on numerous charges, including sex trafficking, forcing/coercing another person into prostitution and kidnapping

He is now out of danger.

The key to the case is the kidnapper. He was seen going into a hotel room with her so the presumption is pretty big that he either preyed on her or set someone else up to pray on her. Unless he has a disposable phone, LE is likely all over who might have gone into that room if he was not the one who "bought" her from mom. I would think his choices are pretty straight forward-if he passed her along, he has incentive to give that information to LE. If he did not, he will likely keep his mouth closed. Cause this world is overwhelmingly huge when it comes to trying to find a little girl...

You know, when I was reading this thread the last few days and I saw some commenters alluding to Shaniyah being sold into sex slavery, I really thought they were being overly dramatic. Now I feel soooooo naive.

The arrests were part of Operation Cross Country, a joint task force with the FBI, Miami-Dade, Miami Beach and Miami police, along with the Broward Sheriff's Office.
``We're targeting juvenile prostitutes posting on Internet sites and also street walkers,'' said Sgt. Nicole Donnelly, with Miami-Dade police. ``We're attempting to rescue and recover these juveniles to get them off this life they are now living in. We are putting them into different types of programs to get their lives back on track, where they actually should be.''
The task force made nine arrests in Broward and 75 in Miami-Dade County. Of the arrests in Miami-Dade, 24 were made on Miami Beach. A 14-year-old girl was also rescued in the Miami Beach sweep, authorities said.
The arrests were on a variety of charges, including deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution, offering to engage in prostitution, transportation for prostitution and possession of cocaine.
