Tonight the officer stressed how much they had met/worked collaboratively with the other jurisdictions to determine who would take the case. He said something to the effect that it was started in Cumberland County and they really wanted to stay with it until the end. So I don't think they necessarily believe she was killed in Cumberland County .

If I misheard him, please correct me!

That sounds better than the over the phone explanation I was given. Why transfer everything now?
Isn't Cumberland much bigger than Lee, too? Probably better resources and all of that.

I just watched the PC. this is just too aweful to imagine what this little girl went through. If the mom GAVE this girl to MAM to pay off a debt... it would figure she wasn't planning on seeing her again. Hence, knowing at some point she would be dead.

And what about the report that mom made a comment to Aunt that she would never see Shaniya again. That's pretty telling.

The details (that have already been revealed) in this case is heart wrenching. I just don't know how people can live like this? With no regard for human life. It almost seems animalistic!

They do not always allow the criminal past in the trial. I believe in the Christian & Newsom case they did not allow in Davidson's past.

Unfortunately when they go to trial the perp has more rights than the victim and their families. LAWS NEED TO CHANGE!!!

Hear hear!!! The laws need to reflect at least as many rights for victims as for criminals.

If she sold/traded her and it resulted in her death she can be charged with murder. She cannot be executed though if she did not actually kill her. Supreme court has said it is cruel and unusual punishment. Execution is for those who have killed someone (ie the same reason they have said we cannot kill child rapists). Don't agree, but that is the court rulings on the topic. LWOP would be the most she will face.

How can someone who is involved in an act of murder, in any way, shape, or form, be unusually or cruelly punished by being executed? Hmmmm maybe their life is more important then the victims life? NOT!!!! Now, if they torture a prisoner or allow heinous acts to occur, that might be cruel and is for sure unusual in America, but those who believe in the death penalty, will most likely agree that if someone willingly participates in an act that leads to a murder, they are convicted by a jury of their peers, that punishment can not be cruel or unusual just because it involves the death.

Hi Passionflower, Its me. I'm still trying to figure out why McNeill hasn't been charged with human trafficing too. How can the mother be charged with it and not him. It only makes sense to me that if she sold her daughter by means of human trafficing, and he bought her by means of human trafficing, then he would also be charged with the same.....Of course, so far the investigation continues. I'm beginning to think that McNeill was just acting on his own wants and not delivering her as I first thought. He used her and threw her away.

I would think the fact that the "mother" was charged with trafficking, but that MAM was not, could be interpreted as Shaniya being sold/trafficked to MAM for his own personal use, not to be passed on to any other person.

Maybe the intention was there, but it didn't occur and he didn't traffic her to anyone else???

O/T: 1 year old girl missing from my area. She's with her mother, who has recently attempted suicide and has been hearing voices. Car was found abandoned and both mother and child are gone.

Did we get BL's contractor job figured out? FWIW, Contracting can apply to any field, computers, medical, military. The difference is a company hires a contractor, a company employes an employee.

IMO, if BL was in Utah and former military, he's probably a Department of Defense contractor of some sort. I have alot of them living in my town that work at the Depot or Proving grounds. In fact on my street there are some really nice new homes the builder leases to DOD employees.

Someone had posted something from the AP (I believe) that started something like oil drilling father

I look to see if I can find it.

Don't forget the little girl about 3 yrs. old in Nevada, I think her name was Madeline. Chester Stiles raped her and filmed it. This case is on WS. In the film, she was just staring off into space. It was reported that he did everything you could ever imagine to this tiny little child. The investigators were traumatized just watching it. She wasn't screaming. She appeared to be in shock.

IIRC, that was horrible for LE officers also

In my opinion...

* It is possible MAM checked into the hotel earlier, prior to picking up Shaniya. Therefore, he would already have had the key, so it would have been unnecessary to stop by the front desk with her in his arms. With the key already in his posession, he could have carried her from the car directly to the elevator, and then to the room.

* Another possibilty... someone else ( an as yet unknown person to us)actually booked and checked into the room. In this case, the person who checked into the room would only have to call MAM and tell MAM what hotel and room number. Then MAM would have had no need to stop by the front desk at all, just carry Shaniya directly from the car to the room. The other person, waiting in the hotel room already, would answer the door after hearing MAM knock, and let MAM and Shaniya in the hotel room.

* In defense of the front desk attendant (I work in a hotel), he/she may not have even seen the news reports until much later. (Most places of employment do not allow their employees to watch tv while on the clock. I know that when I get home after working all night, I get home and go to sleep, I don't watch tv). After finally seeing the news reports, the hotel employee may have gone back to the hotel, told their manager, reviewed the videos, and then called the authorities.

I hate to condemn the hotel employee for doing what was right- calling the authorities and alerting them to the existance of the surveillance video. I'm going to give this person the benefit of the doubt, and guess they alerted the authorities as soon as they realized they knew something of importance.

bold by me........MOO

Here it is from pg 13

BL - Oil Driller

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the very best that I can do as the AP article is not online anymore. Here is a snap of the reference to oil drilling and BL - sorry, it is not pretty as I had to take it from cache memory:

I just saw the NG replay and the presser. What can I say? Sadness far overshadows my relief that the 🤬🤬🤬 has been charged. God, how my heart aches for that sweet, precious little angel!

well looks like I messed up with copying that. But it was posted on page 13 about BL being a driller and I am attaching the picture (i think...lol) from that post.

Shaniya told several people apparently, that "mommy's friends" did it (burned her). I wonder if she told BL and he chose not to believe her? So sad-you must listen to your children first and then go fact finding!!:furious:

Essies do you remember where you saw/heard? TIA

Presumably, lone, crime lab has found his--and perhaps only his--dna on Shaniya.

There lies his biggest fault. He didn't get legal custody of Shaniya.

Not his biggest IMO. It also had nothing to do w why BL says he decided to let his daughter go stay there w her. And as it turns out, after listening to MH Mgr Davenport, eviction proceedings had already begun on the trailer AD was staying in w BD back in October. Doesn't sound like AD had changed her pattern or ways or had any housing or stability to offer Shaniya at all. :(

:parrot:

I never said asphyxiation was totally nonviolent, but it is better than some of the alternatives.
Doesn't make it better.

MAM has been charged with rape, apprently they have collected his DNA from Shaniya {From him raping her} I doubt there was anyone else waiting JMO

why would it take so long for LE to check out the surveillance video anyways. Someone that worked at this hotel should have the password or code whatever. Im sorry but i would think that anyone that worked front desk, should have that password. I work at a resort and several of us that work the front desk all have a passord that we can check out the surveillance videos.

The strange thing to me is that he rented a motel, there is a lot we don't know.

How did she know he was going to murder her? Shaniya was still alive when AD called 911.

She knew she was going to be killed.
They could not have a rape victim walking around.
I honestly believe this assault was filmed at the hotel.
But momster called 911 to report her missing because someone was going to call eventually and that would have put the focus on momster.
She knew she wasn't coming home when she helped load her up that morning.
