I have to get a couple things off my chest. First I think BL is a very grieving parent. I think that maybe the only way he can deal with this is by turning it all over to God. I think he blames himself more than any of us know. I also know that any "sane" person would not hand their child over if they knew that they were going to be killed. That only happened once that I know of and it was for my salvation. As far as his walk at the funeral!?!?!?!?! At my Mother's funeral you would have thought I was a Nazi. At the end of the funeral when everyone goes up to say their last goodbye I was completely stiff legged. I walked like a zombie. I realized what I was doing, but I also knew that if I changed it that someone would be picking me up. At my brothers funeral I walked like my knee was broke and my husband supported me more than I did myself. I agree that there should have been some more checking on where Shaniya was going and I imagine that Brad does too.

See, I saw an interview with Dr. Perper (sp???) that said after a week of decomp, all things internal would be about the same. Not much decomp in body cavities w/in the first week. That's what he said.
I don't have a link, I just remember it FWIW.

And her hair can be tested for drugs and legnth of time she was on them. IMO
Ahhhh....that makes sense. If Dr. Perper said it, I likely didn't hear it. He makes my skin crawl, I tend to tune out when he's on.
I don't know why, weird reaction to him.

"Don't let God's words, and don't let His actions, bring y'all down 'cause He did this for a reason." -BL

Yesterday was a time for healing--but what I also feel was a missed opportunity..... I, for one, am still reeling from these words spoken by Shaniya's father in yesterday's service. JMO

He has certainly made some odd statements for a grieving father--and no, I am not saying that he is not grieving for his daughter. But it stands to reason that God had nothing to do with what happened to Shaniya. A few days ago, I believe BL also beseeched God "not to give up" on Shaniya. God didn't give up on Shaniya;BL did, by sending her to live in that squalid house-of-horrors. BL spends a lot of time talking about forgiveness, when most fathers might be talking vengeance if their daughters suffered Shaniya's sad fate. But the comment he made on "Oprah", that he knew that at some time he would be able to sit down and talk with AD about why she committed her unspeakable acts took the cake for me. Despite his emotional outbursts, his reaction to Shaniya's death has been mild and restrained.

Okay, this provokes questions in my mind. I'd like to see a picture of the back porch if anyone has one. If there were feces on the back porch and railing, I want to know if that is what was on the blanket they found in the trash. Same or different? Hate to sound gross but it is what it is. It would certainly indicate to me that she was in the back of the MH, not the front. He cleaned her up with the blanket as much as possible before putting her in the car. Who takes the time to do that if they're in the process of kidnapping?

Also, if AD DID actually gave permission for him to take her, that would be why she was on the back porch to begin with. I noticed she stated on the 911 call that she hadn't checked "in the back yet". Why? Because she knew she wasn't there but she knew that's where she was and knew of the mess on the back porch. Play dumb and maybe I don't have to explain?

Not likely he sets up a time at 5:30 in the morning to do this with permission. He was already there. If he took her to the hotel, why? If he admits this, why? What did he give as his reason? Why kill her if all he wanted was his kicks and AD knew about it?

In short, I think he was there all night. He took her because what he had been doing at the MH wasn't enough for him. He took her out in the wee hours of the morning and intended to kill her when he left. AD didn't realize this much. I don't think AD wanted to admit she knew this guy and he had stayed there the night that "Coe" wasn't there. Ad knew this yet, she threw Coe under the bus.

She didnt' want McNeil's presence to get out. Was that more important to her than finding Shaniya? I think she just figured she'd "turn up". There is one more adult in the MH that HAD to have known what was going on, possibly more than one. That's where I think we'll see more charges.

As far as if there was a 3rd party waiting at the hotel, I'm at a loss as to how to put that together but I'm sure LE already knows about that part of this case. We'll know eventually.

I could be way off here, but I'm leaning in this direction strongly.

BBM. I agree with you completely - to a point. I DO think AD was involved with MAM taking her. I believe at that point Shaniya was already injured badly "down there" and AD realized she had to go. She gave MAM 90 minutes head start and called the cops. She had to. Others in the trailer (her 7 year old son for instance) would have noticed Shaniya gone when they woke up. MAM didn't what the hell to do so in his genius mind he decides to clean the evidence off Shaniya's body at the hotel (where else would he take her - a friend's house????). He leaves, kills her immediately, and leaves her body beside the road. IMO.

Heck with a backed up sewer system , maybe the back porch was used as a toilet by the inhabitants of the trailer.

Why is that MAM was moved to Central and Mom is still in CCJ? I am not sure when her next court date is but if you are charged with a felony then you have to be indicted from a Grand Jury and the same with MAM. I am not so worried about MAM since his previous history. But AD DOES NOT have a record and that will go along ways. I just dont think they have any evidence against her the most will be felony child abuse this is JMO.

Maybe CCJ doesn't house capital murder suspects.

I think it's because he has the no bond status, and they wanted to get him out of the jail, since his stay is almost guaranteed to be more than a year (time to get to trial and his probation violation). AD could bond out, so she'll likely be in county until after her trial, or until she is given no bond for a higher charge.

I think.

Do we know for a fact there is a fiance?

I've seen the fact that shes white and young mentioned several times.

Can someone please tell me if I missed a picture of her. I'd like to see her.

It's the young, blonde female standing on the right at last Thursday night's press conference. I don't know that she is the fiancee, I've also heard she's Carey's daughter. Hard to say at this point who she really is.

I think that amount of feces would have been mentioned, the only thing in the warrant is that it was smeared on the railing and on the outside of the door. IIRC.

He said what he beleives.

A lot of people beleive everything is already written. That God has a reason for everything.

That is his belief.

IMO that does not make him "sick".

That rather conveniently absolves every one of us of all responsibility tho, doesn't it. :waitasec: God gives people wisdom--skills and principles for living--and whether we choose to abide by those is a matter of individual choice.

There are many causes for our own suffering and the suffering of others, some through no fault of our own and that's hard enough. The 'object of my game' if you will is just don't let my suffering--nor above all the suffering of others--be for my own foolishness, recklessness, selfishness, willfulness, pride, or deceitfulness' sake. That makes it much harder to take. Had BL done right by Shaniya and said, "Lord it's hard..." I would be weeping along w him. Had BL said, "Lord it's hard," not because he was relinquishing all responsibility onto God but because he was struggling to forgive himself, I'd be the first to say, "amen Brad. It's hard." But we don't make ourselves very sympathetic when we first fail to do what's right--then turn around and blame God for our own failures. JMO

I have seen the question about the Ex Wife that was killed in 1998. They got divorced in 1996 per court records and she retained custody until her death. Then her parents took BL to court and got custody it was about a 2 year battle and a very ugly one.

I'm not trying to question what you believe.
But saying that, how can we question what he believes. He's not the only person on the earth that thinks that way.
And as a Christian, he was taught to forgive. I think he is struggleing with that now, but I think in his heart he thinks he must forgive and leave the wrath to God.
That's what I was taught. No, I don't think I could do it after my 5 year old was sold and murdered, but that is what I was taught we should do in all situations.

The articles I have seen say 9 years.
Took him to court in 1998 and finally won in 2007.
The article could be wrong, though.

Yeah, I thought she was Carey's daughter too.
That's why I was trying to clear up if we knew for a fact it was fiance.
I guess we don't. I thought I had missed something.
I like to be "in the know".

And if my guess is right, Felony Child Abuse resulting in the death of a child makes it a Federal charge and makes her culpible as an accessory to "murder".

Did you see the final divorce records? I saw the filings but didn't see that they were officially divorced at the time of her death. Good sleuthing!

The "friend" posting on IS told us last week that the girl is BL's fiancee. I haven't seen that info anywhere else. If anyone has seen it other than the "friend's" unsubstantiated statement at IS I'd like to know, too.

Two separate court cases; one for guardianship and the other for child support. Court ordered child support in 2007.
