I'm not trying to question what you believe.
But saying that, how can we question what he believes. He's not the only person on the earth that thinks that way.
And as a Christian, he was taught to forgive. I think he is struggleing with that now, but I think in his heart he thinks he must forgive and leave the wrath to God.
That's what I was taught. No, I don't think I could do it after my 5 year old was sold and murdered, but that is what I was taught we should do in all situations.

Honestly, I have to chalk it up to his way of being able to deal with this. He's pulling strength from wherever he can find it. I realize his actions contributed to the events that eventually led to her demise but that may be the reason he's taking his mind to places he has to in order to survive this loss. I believe he's going to be taking on a whole different personna in life because of this tragedy to change things and that can't be a bad thing.

And if my guess is right, Felony Child Abuse resulting in the death of a child makes it a Federal charge and makes her culpible as an accessory to "murder".

NC abolished the whole "accessory" to murder thing. They are all charged as principals now. About time, too.

If I hear one more person use "Judge not" as a moral disclaimer to never have any moral standards or never judge actions I think I'm going to pluck all my feathers out.

Two separate court cases; one for guardianship and the other for child support. Court ordered child support in 2007.

Is there a link? I have custody and child support as of 2007 in everything I am reading.

Heck with a backed up sewer system , maybe the back porch was used as a toilet by the inhabitants of the trailer.

I thought that too but.......with forensic science these days, they would know which person that came from. Like I said, gross, I know, but it is what it is.

No tomatoes here. I agree with you. This case, as it stands now, does not fit together, starting with the conflicting charges against AD and MAM. Police charged AD with trafficking Shaniya while at the same time charging MAM with kidnapping her. You can't have it both ways.

You can if you have two seperate incidents in time.

Oh, well, that's better yet, huh?

State to review DSS' contact with slain girl's family - WRAL

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A state team of experts will examine any contact the Cumberland County Department of Social Services had with the family of a 5-year-old Fayetteville girl who was killed and whose mother has been accused of prostituting her.

DSS looked at Davis with regard to her 7-year-old son, not Shaniya, according to her uncle, Michael Davis. The case was closed, and Antoinette Davis was able to retain custody of the boy, her uncle said.

DSS Director Brenda Jackson has declined to comment on the agency's involvement with the Davis family, citing the criminal investigation into Shaniya's death as well as confidentiality rules for child protective services cases.

The state plans to appoint a review team to investigate any DSS contact with the Davis family, and the team's findings will be turned over to the state Child Fatality Task Force. The task force studies all child deaths in North Carolina to make recommendations to legislators on changes to state laws and administrative polices to prevent future deaths.

"You just say, 'How in the world did this happen?' and 'How could it have gotten to this end place?' and 'We need to do better,'" said Tom Vitaglione, co-chairman of the task force.

Fifty-eight children in the state were homicide victims in 2008, according to advocacy group Action for Children North Carolina.

Rob Thompson, executive director of another advocacy group, The Covenant With North Carolina's Children, said giving the public more information about tragedies like Shaniya's death could help prevent similar incidents.

"I think just having a better picture of what happened would allow us to see all of things that may have had a role in this horrible situation," Thompson said. "In cases where you're not jeopardizing the privacy of a victim, I think it is more appropriate to be as transparent as possible."

Vitaglione said Cumberland County DSS workers "are devastated" by Shaniya's death, and the fact that child protective services is overburdened and underfunded in the state doesn't ease their distress.

DSS agencies are federally mandated and funded but are run by individual counties and overseen by the state.

"In some ways, it's an impossible task that we've asked them to do," he said.

Last year, DSS agencies received 127,192 reports of child abuse and neglect statewide, and workers were able to substantiate abuse or neglect in less than 10 percent of the reports, according to Action for Children.

"I think the most important thing is that we really try and reduce that caseload both through proper training, proper ov

He has certainly made some odd statements for a grieving father--and no, I am not saying that he is not grieving for his daughter. But it stands to reason that God had nothing to do with what happened to Shaniya. A few days ago, I believe BL also beseeched God "not to give up" on Shaniya. God didn't give up on Shaniya;BL did, by sending her to live in that squalid house-of-horrors. BL spends a lot of time talking about forgiveness, when most fathers might be talking vengeance if their daughters suffered Shaniya's sad fate. But the comment he made on "Oprah", that he knew that at some time he would be able to sit down and talk with AD about why she committed her unspeakable acts took the cake for me. Despite his emotional outbursts, his reaction to Shaniya's death has been mild and restrained.

Exactly. I said the same thing yesterday. Projecting, bigtime. JMO

BBM. I agree with you completely - to a point. I DO think AD was involved with MAM taking her. I believe at that point Shaniya was already injured badly "down there" and AD realized she had to go. She gave MAM 90 minutes head start and called the cops. She had to. Others in the trailer (her 7 year old son for instance) would have noticed Shaniya gone when they woke up. MAM didn't what the hell to do so in his genius mind he decides to clean the evidence off Shaniya's body at the hotel (where else would he take her - a friend's house????). He leaves, kills her immediately, and leaves her body beside the road. IMO.

Yes......that makes perfect sense.

I still want and need to know where the information that MOM sold her for sex came from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your not alone. It has yet to be stated how it went from a 911 call regarding a "Missing Child" to selling the child for sex. :waitasec:

I have seen the question about the Ex Wife that was killed in 1998. They got divorced in 1996 per court records and she retained custody until her death. Then her parents took BL to court and got custody it was about a 2 year battle and a very ugly one.

WOW

Then it appears the newspaper stories were spin I guess since I swear they called her his wife.

As I've stated previously, I really believe they must either have an admission of some sort by AD herself, texts, or more likely video surveillance of her handing Shaniya over to MAM in front of the home. No way can I believe they took MAM's word alone before charges were brought.

Is it just me or does it seem disrespectful to refer to Shaniya as the product of a "one-night stand"? It negates her value as a human being. But then why use the term "one-night stand" in the first place? Some things are better left unsaid.
Out of the mouth of daddy I was not there holding the candle for their fiasco.

Isn't it funny how the whole "judge not" thing only comes up when you judge and disagree? It's all fine and dandy when you judge and applaud, though.

I thought if the girl in the video was Carey's daughter she would have been comforting Carey not BL.

The "friend" posting on IS told us last week that the girl is BL's fiancee. I haven't seen that info anywhere else. If anyone has seen it other than the "friend's" unsubstantiated statement at IS I'd like to know, too.

Well, it looks like she has an engagement ring on so I think it adds up that it is his fiance.

She looks too old to be CLD's daughter IMO and if it was/is CLD's daughter, I find it odd that a "niece" would be by his side like this and the press conference.

Again, JMOO
