I'm still not sure why we doubt his being listed on her birth certificate? Just the name?

My son has a step son, all he had to do to get health insurance was live in the house.

Yes, once enrolled, she'd be required to attend until she was officially withdrawn.

if bls plan was to give shaniya to ad to raise to become a mom why even bother enrolling her in the first place. that bugs me. she was in school for what 5 weeks maybe. so it seems to me that something happened all of a sudden to prompt shaniya going over to her mothers. imo

That's why I don't believe that he planned for Shaniya to live with AD. School wasn't required, so enrolling her doesn't make sense, imo, if she was just going to be taken out after such a short time. I really don't think either that AD asked to have her come live with her but do agree, it seems something happened just before Shaniya got there (unless visits had been happening already) or after she got there that AD didn't want anybody to find out about. MOO

Welcome! That's what I understood also, so who was able to "officially" withdraw her? I'd think it would be BL since he'd enrolled her. Or was AD allowed to being she was the bio-mother? I guess that's why I was asking if AD would've needed to consent to enrollment. :waitasec:

The birth certificate is still a big if, I don't see any indication that he wouldn't be on it. In fact, if AD really was getting child support for Shaniya, then he has to be listed as her father somewhere.

i think knowing this bit of information would help. if he knew he was the father from the beginning why isnt she shaniya lockhart as opposed to shaniya davis?

carey could simply have been the emergency contact. maybe they tried bl first and then when unable to reach him tried the emergency contact.

Makes sense to me. I'm gonna guess that BL is on the birth certificate, AD and BL were listed as parents in the school registration, and Carey was on the "In case of emergency" and the "Can pick up" list.

Preparing the registration forms for school might even have been the reason he got in touch with AD the last time. :sheesh:

My oldest son has my last name, not his father's. His father and I were together then, are together now, and there has never been doubt as to who his father is.
But because we aren't married, I wanted him to have my last name.

We saw the birth announcement; the certificates are sent to the newspaper directly from the hospital (Cape Fear Hospital). No father listed.

Maybe because Davis is the mother's name and they weren't married. I've seen that happen before. Or maybe the b/c doesn't list a father, or at least didn't list one in the beginning. And that leads me right back to how could he prove Shaniya was his daughter to enroll her in school if his name wasn't on there or AD didn't consent to it. MOO

so maybe ad shows up a year later and says this is your baby you need to take her or im takin you for child support. nremebering his encounter with her and probably not wanting to have another child in the system that he may have to pay child support for he takes her and tries to pass her off to friends, family, fiance until they start getting tired of it and he makes and agreement with ad to finally take her in exchange for a small monetary compensation per month. im just tryin to think this out. i know some of it does not make much sense. idk. all imlo
